You dont seem to have looked up the performance of the same exact system in the Tundra. The Tacoma system is literally lifted staight from the Tundra. Same battery size, same electric motor. Its pretty sad in the Tundra.
If they get 25 mpg it will be city only.
The Volt just wasn't a good car IMHO. We crossed shopped the 2nd gen Volt when we were looking at Bolts back in September and it took about 30 seconds of sitting in it before my wife and I were both like, NOPE! The interior just was not well laid out.
The Bolt was 10x better despite being a...
They all seem really stupid in that regard. Like lets half ass the hybrid and go full in on the Lightning(Ford) which is a sales failure it seems. Or lets not do a hybrid at all and put all our chips in the EV Truck basket and then realize that all those free reservations we had people sign up...
But look at all that technology that Toyota brought to the market 10 years after everyone else!
In all seriousness, this only confirms to me how good of a deal the Colorado ZR2 is. I might not be fully pimped out at $48k but you get a lot it seems like. Especially if they start getting...
Thats another thing about the Powerboost that is better, the battery is under the truck, not in the cab. Ford also doesn't put dual intakes on the 3.5L Ecoboost, which is another giant space suck on the Tundra, but that wont be an issue for the Tacoma since its not a TTV6.
Its not nonsense. Thats what he said.
My F150 is fully boxed with leafs, so I understand it can be done, but the reason given was that the c-channel frame absorbed some of the crappy characteristic of leafs. My F150 transmitted a lot of vibration and wiggles through the frame from the rear end...
No. The electric portion of the hybrid powertrain is lifted straight from the Tundra iforce max and the performance there has been a very solid, meh. Acceleration is pretty much the same due to the 600 lbs added to the vehicle, and the efficiency is barely improved if at all.
Basically, you get...
Interesting about those trak-motive cv’s. Ive seen they had them for F150’s but have not run into anyone using them on the F150 forums. Im not sure the F150 axles bind unless maybe people have issues with really big leveling kits.
I think a lot of the reason the medium duty trucks have c channel is due to the ability to upfit them better. It allow you much easier access to bolt things on.
I thought the reason the 4Runner and 200 series are fully boxed while the Tacoma and Tundra were not had to do with the 5 link suspension vs leafs. Sweers specifically stated that was why the 3rd gen frame went fully boxed.
Additionally, the 4runner and LC had a continuous body that is not...
You need max-tow to get that axle with the Ecoboost. All Powerboosts have it.
I heard that they have completely gotten rid of that axle for 2024 with the refresh.
I could be wrong, but adding blocks doesn't necessarily mean you need longer shocks. The shocks will extend by the same amount as the added block height, so they will still be the correct length when the axle hits the bump stops. Running a longer shock may cause premature bottom out if the bumps...
The engine needs to be able to produce the average output of the expected load on the truck. If you plan on towing and using those 28 gallons of fuel, you are likely going to be using close to that 130 kw of generator output.
My guess is they wont run the engine at low load. It will either be...
