Did you have a tailwind? I have seen anywhere from 6.7 to 11.1 towing my travel trailer depending on conditions. 95% of the time i seem to get a headwind for some reason so getting over 10 is a very rare situation.

One of the benefits to them all being on the same platform may be cross compatibility of parts. Like, for example, slapping some Tundra/Sequoia A-arms on a GX for cheap mid-travel. Or if there is difference in steering racks and tie rods, it might swap over.

Im really starting to think a FS SUV is the way to go to have an offroad capable, tow capable, family capable truck. You lose the bed, but every other vehicle has a bunch of compromises too. I wish Ford would bring the Excursion back. Solid axles, locker and a 7.3L/10 speed would be sweet.

Only the most loaded trucks are under 1500. My 2014 Lariat with virtually every option down to the bed liner and wheel well liners is 1560 lbs. You would have to go back to the 12th gen and find a truck without the max tow package to find one as low as you are talking about. Even this F150...

1700 would a decently optioned F150. Ive seen 4x4 Lariats without the moonroof in the 1700 lb range.

I find, more often than not, i am fighting a headwind in Utah and the surrounding states. Headwinds are brutal with a travel trailer, especially with the interstate speeds here. I wont use my GX460 to tow it on longer highway trips because it just doesnt have the grunt in less than ideal...

This was so annoying with my mother in laws class C. Everything rattles and shakes and its generally just a loud experience. Spending a long day in that thing would be taxing. Meanwhile, I hook up my F150 to my travel trailer and am cruising pretty silently at 75 mph and its far more relaxing.
