    Dual purpose winch cable extension

Is this steel cable on the winch? or synthetic line? For steel. Throw three or four cable clamps in your tool box with an spare eye loop/thimble. You could in a unique situation, remove the line from the rear winch and form a loop at the 'drum' end to form a winch line extension. You may damage...

    Tires

This big... These are 38.5 true height. If I could find more I would run them again, but they are hard to find in surplus these days. Since this is a fullsize forum. I would say 37x12.5x17 would be about perfect for most 3/4-1ton rigs IF you can get them on with MINIMAL lift. My truck is...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Boy, did I get my butt kicked today......... The Dodge froze up on the way to work this morning when it was -15 degrees out. There was water in the fuel filter/ water separator that froze up. The fuel was still good, but it couldn't get through the filter because of the frozen water in the...

The 2011 Jeep LACK OF DIESEL thread....

There is a little bit of a imperial to US gallon conversion, but still, VERY good all in all. I corrected for this in the figures I posted earlier.

The 2011 Jeep LACK OF DIESEL thread....

There has been some pretty good documentation of diesel mileage in the JK. Even with the last gen motor The J8s development rigs where seeing more than 20mpg. There was the JK CRD swap that was for sale, with all factory parts, 4.10 gears, manual trans, and HEAVY 37" toyo tires he was still...

    Jerry Can Holders

I built this the other day. It holds four euro cans. I haven't mounted it in the truck yet, but it was sized to go ahead of the passenger wheel-well in the bed. ' It tucks the spouts under the bed rail. The cans overlap my 4' wide 'bed' area on the floor ( carpet covered 4' wide plywood ) by...

    Kydex - Anyone have expierence

When you make a holster or sheath, don't try and mold a piece too close in size to your final part. Give yourself a good bit of extra material around the edges, it can always be trimmed off later. Good luck.

    J8 Expedition Project:

You might be able to argue that one. I don't think they are 'built' in a factory. I think AEV is buying the parts and assembling them. Since your buying the vehicle from AEV, not Chrysler, this may give you some wiggle room. Don't know unless you try :)

    J8 Expedition Project:

The AEV J8 program allows them to be 'street legal' under most states 'kit car' laws ( last time I looked ) All you have to have under those laws is basic safety equipment. You buy the rolling chassis from AEV, not a complete vehicle. You then purchase the motor/transmission from a supporting...

The 2011 Jeep LACK OF DIESEL thread....

???????? 'gasoline' isn't even in crude oil? Spark-ignition fuels occurring naturally in crude oil are of unusable quality requiring a ton of extra refinement and improvement. Explain the Liberty and Grand Cherokee not being offered with a diesel engine any more. It was a good engine too...

The 2011 Jeep LACK OF DIESEL thread....

BAH!!!!!! Look at US Fullsize pickup sales with Diesel engines! You can't tell me that they are not selling like wildfire and making up a SIGNIFICANT portion of overall sales. The reason we don't have more diesel vehicle ownership in the USA is because they are not offered. We are kept in the...

Related note... I called Cummins today for work. "hey, can I buy one of those ISF 3.8 engines in crate form?"....Cummins said, "no sir, there isn't enough interest in the domestic market for the small diesels. Would you be interested in a 4bt or b3.3?" I just don't get it.....

    Project: Doitall Dodge

I am just doing crossover, not hi-steer. I just don't think I have the room for it without much lift. Springless on one side shouldn't matter. I will most likely build another top cap for the other side when I get a chance. The drag link is going to have to be bent a lot to clear the...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

I spent a little time in the machine shop after work. The arm isn't done yet, but I only have about 3 hours in it. I need to order a tapered reamer to do the TRE hole. I also need to put the 60 taper on the 4 mounting holes. I decided to make a 'springless' design also. I still have a little...
