Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

I think you said it somewhere before, but what is the shipping weight of this tent? Also, looking at your mount, so it has mounting brackets that slide down the side of the tent and then you ran the bolts through the HD rhino bars? Just comparing to the JB which have channels on the bottom...

    Coleman camp oven?

I love my oven. It packs up nice and fits in one of my rear drawers. I did find that the thermometer that came with it was not accurate, so i have another temp gauge that i use.

    Cape Lookout March 19-25 2016

cool write up! I hit Portsmouth about twice a year. I always camp up north right near the entrance to the village and before you get to the end where they just recently roped that off. Years ago you had to really risk driving around the point because if you were there and high tide came up...

RTT in high winds compared to Hard Side RV??

I should probably have added this in my post above.... So when i was camping at the beach when the storm came up, i had an ezi-awn erected on the beach next to my truck. It was FULLY staked out with every possible stake and tie down used. The wind was so strong when i woke up the next morning...

RTT in high winds compared to Hard Side RV??

I have slept in my RTT (hardshell James Baroud) in two significant wind storms. Once in Moab UT the winds were easily 35 MPH all night. The tent survived well with the exception of the zippers clanging so i wrapped them with duct tape. Second time was at the beach, a storm came up one evening...

    Whistling Maggiolina...

Have you driven around with just the rack, and just the rack with the deflector? Maybe that's what is whistling? Those tents are pretty streamline.

Best place to buy ARB Awning and Room

I have some Rhino rack HD bars, so i ended up buying the brackets for them that mount the foxwing awning and just trimmed the top off since the ARB awning is half the width of the foxwing.

Question about using an RTT on campground

i've always said i have a tent. Then if they ask anymore questions i'll say it's mounted onto the roof of my truck and i don't need any hookups. It's just like a regular tent. So every time i've paid for a tent spot. KOA was a little confused about it....

    ARB Awning Room Input?

hmmmm i don't have measurements but if you look at my post earlier in the thread mine is pretty much fully extended. My truck is on a 4 inch lift with 35 inch tires, plus the height of the roof rack... so that's at least 7ish feet.

    ARB Awning Room Input?

that happened to me on my first real trip with the awning... first night i used it, it poured all night. Sometime in the middle of the night i feel my whole truck lunge for a second and looked out from my RTT and saw one of the extension poles bent. I had zero pitch to mine so the water pooled...

    Hard Shell RTT care

thanks everyone. I was wondering if a standard car was would work and apparently it's not the right choice. I'll go look for a boat was and the 3M fiberglass restorer/wax.

    Hard Shell RTT care

What are you guys using to take care of your fiberglass shells on your RTT? I am having serious mold and dirt build up on mine and am wondering if i should wax it, use a bleach cleaner, or what is the best products for these things. Look forward to hearing back from everyone on how to properly...

ARB Awning and fourtreks brackets first thoughts

First time or two setting it up and taking it down is a learning experience that's for sure. Then you get the hang of it. I find that when you take it down, un-do the two side poles and just swing them in. Then as you roll up the awning you will get to those poles kind of crossed up in your...

    ARB Awning Room Input?

Regarding packing the room up.... yea, cramming it is a no-go! I tried. The best i have found is to pack it just like a large backpacking tent. I start by leaving it under the awning after it's detached. Fold the top and sides in to the center, fold it in half, then again. Now you have a...

Closeout Sale Of Remaining JAMES BAROUD Classic Models

not that i'm aware of. When i camp with my Autohome buddies, my tent is deployed and ready in ½ of the time of theirs. But, it's reverse on take down, usually they can close their tents a little easier than i can just because i have to climb up so high to pull the front down, then go to the...

Closeout Sale Of Remaining JAMES BAROUD Classic Models

I am putting my two cents in here regarding ease of operation... i think a big factor is how high off the ground your RTT is. If you have an extremely lifted vehicle with awnings on, sometimes it's hard to get the front to close because it's such a reach. Other than that, it really shouldn't...
