The main reason is because I want a lift and I don't want to decrease the reliability of my truck. Let me provide more info...
When I first picked up my tacoma I planned on keeping the suspension stock for the first couple of years until I was able to pay it off. After driving it for a few...
So while I've been researching this topic I have come up with a different outlook on a lift kit. My guess is that most of you all will disagree but I think I'm going to go with a drop bracket kit. Most likely the one that RCD makes which is a 4.5 inch lift kit. After talking to a lot of people...
Thanks for the feedback guys. The more and more I think about it I am leaning towards staying stock. Great point on the added weight. I recently put a deposit down on a Four Wheel Camper so once I get that the weight is going to be a factor. I was thinking of going with air bags since those seem...
I have a question for you all. What is the best suspension for the overlander?
Since I recently purchased a new vehicle that is stock, I can’t decide if I want a lift or I should leave it stock. Outside of looks and needing a lift for bigger tires, what are the true advantages of replacing the...
I also say buy new, unless you are using cash to make the purchase. About a year ago I purchased a brand new 2014 4Runner Trail for $36k. I could have got a one year old used 4runner trail but the monthly payment was a lot more since the APR on a used car is more.
With all that being said I...
SOLD!!!
I recently put a deposit down on a Four Wheel Camper so my RTT will be going up for sale. I'm in the process of getting pics but due to the weather in upstate NY I may have to wait.
What I have: Mt. Shasta Roof Top Tent
Just like the one here...
Yeah I agree with Vegastoy. Go with a Tundra Crew Max. Since you speak of reliability and wanted to add 35s, and the fact that you will have passengers, the Tacoma wouldn't work. The only downside with the Tundra is the MPG. However, since you want to add 35s in the first place you may not even...
Thanks for the info. Right now I plan to use this to power my Indel B fridge when I'm stopped at camp. Since I usually only spend one night at a camp site I figured I would charge the Yeti back up while I'm driving from place to place. Do you think the two 40 watts are going to be enough?
After reading most of these post I decided I should get one of these systems. Today I ordered the Yeti 400, Venture 30 and 2 of the Nomad 20 solar panels. Ready to put these to the test. Thanks to all who have shared their experiences.
Awesome! I love the commentary. I still have several years before I'm able to do a trip like the one you are planning but I do enjoy researching all of the places we will go. What is the first stop on your future trip?
Yeah I've wondered about the weight of the tent being a problem. It's close to 125lbs with the max roof rack limit is 130lbs...I think that's pushing it to the limit. A roof rack maybe in my future after all.
So I recently purchased a RTT and I am wondering how I can install it on my stock roof rack. I would like to stay way from using cross bars because this route will create to much of a gap between my roof and the tent. I would like to use all stock parts and keep the tent closest to the roof...
Sold!!! Is anyone interested in an Oztent RV-5? The tent comes with rain fly, deluxe peaked side panels and deluxe front panel. Asking $1300 for everything. I've only used this once and I'm selling because I purchased another roof top tent.
The tent is located in Columbia, MD.
