I'm not new to the overland world but I've never owned a 4wd Mitsubishi. Something about these Montero's that I like.
We paid $4000 for this one owner 2005 Montero with 173,000 miles on it. The Carfax had over 30 service records and they all seemed good, so I felt it was a fair deal.

Great point! I recently purchased a 2018 TRD Pro Tacoma for the same reasons. I was tired of adding all of these mods to the truck and then loosing big time when it was time to sale. Looking forward to your build!
Trips!! Over 2,000 miles from MD to AZ. I go out west at least 4 times a year and I also spend most weekends exploring local areas. I wish I could say that all of these miles are hwy but I'm not going to lie.
Thanks! Yeah, I'd like to have something larger. Either a AEV Ram with Flatbed FWC or a full size truck with a hard sided camper. I'm still in the research phase but I'm in need of more space and power at the moment.
Price drop!!! $46,000 obo. I've received a lot of questions regarding the purchase of just the camper. As of now I would still like to sell both the truck and camper together since the truck was built for the camper.
Please let me know if you have any questions. And please spread the word...

Outside of the pop-up campers who makes the shortest campers, height wise?
I'm thinking about moving from a FWC in a Tacoma to something like a Bigfoot Camper in a Ram truck. I've been reading a lot but I feel like I may have overlooked a few truck camper brands.
I currently have a 2016 Tacoma short bed with a Four Wheel Camper(700lbs). I upgraded to bags and I also have "E" rated tires. With 1000lbs you may want to consider upgrading the brakes too.
Hey Rando,
Your going to love your setup. I know I'm late to this thread but I still wanted to share what I have. I have a 4" BDS Lift on my Tacoma with Bilstein shocks. To help with the weight from the camper I'm also using ride rite bags. I've even been on some decent trails with this and it...
For now my system has stayed stock. When I'm out camping I turn my truck on for 15 mins at night and then again in the morning. If I'm staying at basecamp for more than 24 hours I just turn the truck on during lunch and then again during dinner. So far so good.
I consider myself a fit guy(have 11 years in the Army) and popping up my FWC isn't as easy as I thought it would be. Mine came with the stock lifters so I would suggest changing them out if you do go with a FWC. You don't want the potential of injuring yourself way out in the backwoods opening...
Sorry to hear about the troubles you are having. Hope it all works out.
Is anyone else having issues seeing the pics? I can see all of the posts but none of the pics are showing.
Never mind. I found a video that answered my question. All I need is a MC4 adapter and it will work with a Renogy Solar Panel.

Does anyone know of a solar panel(100watts or so) that will work with a Goal Zero Yeti 400? I'm specifically looking for something other than a Goal Zero panel because those are way out of my price range.
