Rando, yes I have a CO monitor and it did not go off. When it happened the first time I thought the same thing so I exited the camper for a few hours to play it safe. When it happened again I took the heater outside and it did the same thing.
I agree that these type of heaters create...
The gauge is actually a temperature reading. I wanted to know the temperature inside and outside of the camper so I picked that one up off amazon. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MUOIQ8W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My goal zero is charged from the truck...
Mr. Heater or Camco Wave-3 are your best options.
I've used both in my camper. The Buddy Heater is awesome for providing heat really fast. Even on the coldest of days the camper is nice and warm in 15mins. The downside is that it can actually get too hot. I've also had issues with the pilot...
Those Skampers are super cool. I would have ended up with one of those but I couldn't find a used one at the time.
Unfortunately I don't have any build progress pics. The camper was completely empty when I purchased it new. For several years I left it empty because I wasn't sure how to build it...
2016 Four Wheel Camper
Swift Shell Model
On a 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Manual
I've had my camper for a few years now and the build is basically complete but I still wanted to share my ideas.
Wow. I'm just now noticing this with the Goal Zero Lithium. I currently have the older model and I use it as my main power supply in my camper. I'm able to keep it topped off from driving my truck. Supper simple.
OP, I would just use the Goal Zero as the primary source of power in the camper...
Thanks everyone for all of the feedback.
To clear out some questions:
1) I have a Goal Zero Yeti 400 with the old battery(not lithium).
2) I do have a 100 watt solar panel that I can charge the Yeti but often times when I need the extra charge it's cloudy or I'm in a heavily shaded area.
In...
Carbon build up was something that I was worried about. Seems like that is a major concern from other places that I've read. My last truck was idled for about 30 mins each day and sometimes a lot longer. I traded it in around 70,000 miles so I never had it long enough to see any affects.
I...
I don't have an elaborate dual battery or solar system on my truck, just a basic Goal Zero Yeti to power things in the back of my camper. On trips that are longer than 2 days(which is rare) I tend to run the Goal Zero down to it's lowest wattage and need to turn the truck on to charge it.
How...
Love this thread and the work you have done!
I've done a few changes to my camper that have helped make things easier. It's great to know others are making changes as well.
Yeah, I saw this. I submitted a few of my pics. I'd love to get that grand prize. They should do this more often. Lots of great pics of FWCs out there. Good luck on the contest.
-What makes FWC campers so sought after?
I’ve owned my camper(FWC Swift Shell) for 3 years now and I mainly use it during the spring, fall and winter months. Summer time it’s just too hot for me to camp. Altogether I’ve probably racked up about 100 or so days in the camper. It comes down to two...
I'm currently using a Yeti 400 as my main power source in my FWC. For the last 3 years I've used it to power my fridge and it works great. I also have a 100wt solar panel that I can use to charge it but I normally use my truck outlet for that. I never spend more than 2 days in one camp spot...

Yes, this is mine. Price is high but not firm.
But you ordered some springs and shocks right? I'm only asking because I'd like to add a lift to my Gen3. So far I've only seen the OME brand and I'm curious what else is out there.
