Hey Doug,
First off, not all RTTs are made in China, some are also made in South Africa. The easiest way to tell the difference is in the price. South Africa RTTs normally cost more than the Chinese version because they are made with a higher quality. Not saying that there is anything wrong...
Not sure if this will help you out but I'm currently looking at the Falken Wild Peaks or Rocky Mounts (Discount Tire's version). The price from Discount Tire seems unbeatable and from what I have heard they are really good tires. From talking to people they wear even, last long and are easy to...
I come from a short line of Jeeps (2009 JKUR and 2011 JKU) and now a Toyota guy, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Personally, if money was no option I would get the cheapest JKU I could find and rebuild it from the ground up. Obviously this was never the case in my book and it also...
Thanks for the info Paul. I really like your setup and this maybe what I start out with. I'll let you know if I have any questions.

Keeping out the bugs is one of my major concerns, especially being out here on the east cost.
I've some companies that have made walls for their awnings but I wasn't sure how secure they are. Seems like most of them are connected with velcro on the top and I would think that a small gust of wind would come through it.
I've seen his build but don't remember seeing anything about him...
Hey guys,
Since I just recently sold my rtt I'm looking into purchasing a awning to use in its place. I'm thinking about going with the CVT 99" Awning and getting the walls with it.
Does anyone have any experience using these in replace of tents? I've never seen one in person but I would...
I've been looking into this. So far I've found several people who run the Diehard Platinum Marine Group 31 as the main battery. I'm thinking about do the same.
What do you guys think about having a shower tent with a floor? After looking at several online some come with floors and some don't. I would think that by having a floor it would make things easier but never have used one so not sure.
Do you guys recommend ones with floors or with out?
I use a Buddy Heater that is made by Mr. Heater. I picked up the Portable Buddy last winter from Lowes when it was on sale. I use it up inside the RTT on really cold nights. So far the coldest that I've used it was during one winter night when it got down to the teens. I normally run the heater...
Here is my expedition themed rig. As far as building an expo rig I think the FJ in stock forum is more than capable. The first things I would add would be great camping gear.
Just came acros another promotional video of the Ark and I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger. I noticed in the video that the guys had a power strip plugged into the system and was running all kinds of handy devices off of it.
I attempted building my own system but after running 2x...
Thanks for sharing! I'm usually up in that area at least every other weekend with a few guys from the FJ Cruiser Forums. The guys are actually planning a trip out that way this coming up Saturday.
Like Ben suggested check out the local Facebook group page. If your not a Facebook user we...
Thanks guys for the feedback.
I do plan on charging the powerpak at home with a proper battery charger but in the event that I need a charge I want to have the ability.
You guys have any recommendation on 12vt chargers? I really like how the Arkpak has this feature and I may ultimately...
So I've decided to build a portable power pak instead of adding a dual battery system. Up until now I had everything all figured out but recently I've discovered that I would like the option of charging the pak while I'm driving down the road.
Since I have no idea what I'm doing I did do some...
