NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Quick sketch in the pad. Main takeaways is there is a lot of redundancy in charging capability but the batteries are isolated via the traxide. Solar charge runs through the aux battery via traxide to keep primary topped off, essentially a reverse of the alternator. That was deliberate since the...

Coyote; aka my 96 D1 5 speed build thread

As follow on; one thing that I have done for awhile is keep everything in one place to help load out. So as it's stored: Then the layout of ground tent pelican, stove pelican, K1 & K2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great question on the Wolf Packs. I’ll try to give a somewhat concise response. -For the purposes of putting underneath a sleeping platform and using during camp setup/execution/tear down they are good. Pros: *Lightweight *Stackable *Durable enough *Affordable (enough) Cons: *Not really...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

ARB compressor in to replace the TJM that died off. NOCO will find a more permanent mounting solution but that kept it out of the way. Assisting elders seems to be the norm this week. Anderson plug jumper cables well worth it. Range day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Coyote; aka my 96 D1 5 speed build thread

Took a week off from being 'essential' to properly social distance. Time to do some much needed tinkering. Used some residual L track fm the LR3 project to provide better cargo handling in the back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Using some social distance time to get after some things, time to start the S1 project in earnest. Except a long winter, and a battery from 2013 makes that a time for the young to help the old. A week up here, first thing to tackle is OBA fix for the LR3. Stable is fairly full (there is always...

Not a bad way to spend an early spring day social distancing.

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

It's been done, there are likely pictures on this forum with a little searching. There is definitely evidence of it on facebook. How it looks, and how it performs, are different facets. Aside from the concern on CV angles, the other thing that emerges that is less anecdotal is that your...

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

When I put the dobbies on the new rear struts, I went ahead and put the 13mm spacer in b/c why not. Had I gotten Dobbies with Dobbie struts, I may not have bothered but since I was combining parts from an OME HD kit and even more HD springs, I had the whole thing cracked open with a strut...

    New to the Forum

I have been very happy with my autohome RTT; the hardshell is fantastic for setup/teardown speed-and the effect on mpg was minimal.

Evan- Welcome aboard. As you do your build, definitely make sure you've baselined the fluids and such. Nice thinking about having a 300k mile LR3...anything that has needed to be fixed, probably has. Twice. r- Ray

    Aftermarket thermostat and Engine Temps.

Interesting. My temps don't go above 200 unless pushing hard, up a hill-or towing. Have you reconditioned everything else? (New fluids, water pump, fan clutch, etc) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR3 / Discovery 3 Coil Conversion +2" Question

Your travel limitations will still exist even if you get a longer shock just based off the nature of the truck’s geometry. I believe, in part, that is why nobody spends a lot of time working out how to squeeze an extra inch of down travel out of the trucks with new shocks (I mean from...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

I don’t think so, believe it was an SYA setup.

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

May be worth looking through the whole build thread (sig line). When I converted there was no HD option, I eventually retrofitted HD coils in the back. Have had it long enough that I just refreshed everything given the toll I have taken on my truck since 2015. Still no regrets about the swap...

    MaxTrax, are they worth it?

Something is certainly better than nothing. That said the go treads were a one time use when we tried them out side by side with maxtrax, action trax, 1st gen xbulls, fiberglass waffle boards, etc. Doesn't make them bad, just makes them less durable for repeated usage. r- Ray

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Airbag light had come on, intermittent at first and then stayed on. Codes reconciled back to faulty clock spring. Easy job. As Sunrise noted you can make an airbag tool from coat hanger. I wasn't in a rush and didn't mind getting one with a handle on it, from the UK, purpose built. Laser 7345...
