NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Why not get it done. With the $8 tool it's a rather easy job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Let it settle for a week and a half, for an alignment. Threw a ruler on which highlights that the new OME HD is .5" higher in the front than the old OME MD. The back is a full 1" higher with the Dobinsons HD than the OME HD springs (both had 13mm spacer). Overall ride is excellent, firm but...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

Credit where it is due, I have forsaken the swing away...but you have perfected it.

    Give it to me straight

Do you have a tool to determine what the code actually is? (IID). I have had emissions codes on for 100k....wanna guess how many times it had left me stranded? Yes these vehicles are more reliant on systems, but those systems are far more reliable. It's also worth noting they report a lot more...

What do you use for a truck gun?

I don't think the glock made into a PDW is a bad route at all-I tried it with RONI but it just didn't feel right-I liked it, but not as much as I've grown fond of the AR pistol(s) in my life.

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Returned from Japan to the truck having OME HD front and Dobbie rears...need to get a tape measure on it but I'm guessing there will be an increase in ride height. Ride is fantastic. Just a touch of flair... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Coyote; aka my 96 D1 5 speed build thread

Fired the old girl up to make room in the garage for a bit, was struck when going to get her from the drive just how much I love this truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR4 Coil conversion?

What do we mean when we say things like 'lots more freedom?' Are people on coils somehow less free? Do they face oppression and tyranny or something? Bottomline remains that coils don't fail, that doesn't mean the EAS isn't a good system. Robust and reliable, especially if serviced...

    LR4 Coil conversion?

Did they have terrain response, or were/are they 'poverty spec' as our social class sensitive peeps call them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR4 Coil conversion?

Looks like L8 & Dunlop are poised to coil convert the 4 now too based off some releases I read. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Prob worth wandering through my build thread. Your questions are interesting; you sunk a ton of money into new EAS components-and are finding that troublesome, but ask if it's worth it because EAS components are cheap? Seems you have answered that question with your experience. Yes, I've...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Air struts went the way of the dodo, in Abu Dhabi, in 2015. With all the folks having to change theirs out...I'm sure someone has some laying around though. :)

    LR4 Coil conversion?

To my knowledge it's just a 3 thing; the difference in suspension not really so much being hardware as it is software (and thus the time to make the software work properly-i.e. the secret sauce of the EAS to coil conversion).

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Would love to see the cost on that kind of setup...as I think it would end up about 2x the value of the vehicle-all to what end? (Aside from the pursuit of doing it). You'd still be stuck with something unduly heavy, likely with built in geometry limitations.

One step closer Will admit, just throwing this to the Indy as I head off on a work trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Light snow/sleet here has me inside troubleshooting the brake pad sensor light (my Indy ripped a wire out of the front plug but didn't check that...thus the front is now wired together, light gone), and rotating tires to eek life out of the BFGs. Amidst that I got some measurements. Minor...

In the rear. Allegedly. I'll confirm at some point since I actually have an expedition rear perch in my garage in WV.

Don- I'll get you a measurement before I start swapping stuff around. That said I think we get to something philosophic here-your logic is correct, assuming you accept the idea of putting 34's on the truck as the going in proposition. Moreover, I'd note that while I run her heavier than I...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Right now it's a pair of these: Renogy 50 Watt 12 Volt Extremely Flexible Monocrystalline Solar Panel - Ultra Lightweight, Ultra Thin, Up to 248 Degree Arc, for RV, Boats, Roofs, Uneven Surfaces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BMQRNXZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_w90gEbK7GAXJ3 I would say they are ok, as...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

I ought to be getting the Dobbies onto the new rear coils and doing a suspension refresh but work->life makes that a bridge too far for the moment, so instead we add a little to the roof rack for winter sports. Also 'finished' my PDW project...and since it's on the middle seat it's content...
