    2004 8.1 Yukon

I tried to get your 13mpgs but failed. 2100 miles across 2/3rds of the country through the mtns and over the river with a 9300lb trailer. I averaged 10.4 miles to the gallon. I cruised at 70mph at 1900ish rpms with more than enough power left to pass anything I wanted on the highway. I think...

    Last 2500 Suburban

Not really. The only equipment they have to remove is the light bars, cages in passenger areas, and some radios. The other equipment like skid plates, bumpers and other non police stuff is removed and used on other vehicles. Ive seen LE vehicles go with non red and blue emergency lights( white...

    Last 2500 Suburban

The strap isnt part of the PPV package. It was put on every BP vehicle because after a while of the vehicle getting the crap beat out of it the hood latches would be misaligned and the hood would fly open.

    Last 2500 Suburban

The gmt800 2500 burb chassis remained unchanged up till the last 2500 was made in 2014. You are correct that it didnt get the truck changes in 2011.

    Last 2500 Suburban

Very very few of BPs vehicles have all that extra kit. Those vehicles were for special units, very specific areas based on need or terrain or they were the initial ones fitted up by gov vendors trying to get the gov to buy them. Most of the aftermarket goodies disappeared after the initial...

Fling That Mud Baby! Now, You Can Boost Your Colorado ZR2 to 416 HP!

Damn thats ugly. On a similar note why does GM keep designing the wheel wells on their trucks to fit such tiny tires?

2001 Yukon XL 2500 6.0 Build and Questions Thread

Hey Jacob welcome to the 2500 burb club. Sounds like you got a good deal on a great truck. Im currently running 265/75r16s on mine. I have a neighbor running 285/75r16s on the stock wheels with no problems. The 255/85s are a great size for the vehicle. Skinny enough for snowy roads but just...

    2004 8.1 Yukon

Red 13.87mpgs is great for the 8.1. I average 10ish around town unloaded but I tend to play with the skinny pedal. I get right around 13 on long highway trips.

    2004 8.1 Yukon

You found that "abrasive, insulting, and condescending"? Really? Are you a nun or a kindergarten teacher? What part of that was abrasive or insulting? It may have been a little condescending, but cheese and rice its called humor. Everything but two sentences was factual details. I take back my...

    2004 8.1 Yukon

This a different animal than the 1500 youre used to. His yukon is a 2004 2500 with the 8.1ltr. Being a 2004 2500 it has the upgraded 4l85e transmission. The 4l85e is a 5 planetary trans rated for vehicles up to 16,000lbs. It doesnt have the vulnerabilities that a 4l60e has. Plus the 2500...

Full size SUV with best off road chops?

There are always a few of each with that many miles but neither toyota or ford has nearly as many full size SUVs still on the road with around 300k as GM. Says something for all of these supposed gremlins. OP in my personal experience offroad isnt the biggest reason for a solid rear axle. Your...

    Any GMT900 Suburban/XL 2500 builds here?

Some of yall must have some delicate sensibilities. The 2500 burbs may be a bit stiffer but the ride isnt rough unless your suspension bushings are just worn out crap. The wife doesnt think ours rides any stiffer than my M5. Its stiff but not harsh. Our has less than 100k on it and with load E...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

Well someones a little sensitive. You missed the entire point of my post but that seems to go with the whole bolt on crowd. If youre going to be that "extreme" (sorry I tried saying it with a straight face) where you need some of the things youre talking about then you need to forget about...

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

On the gmt800 2500 the larger main tank is gravity fed through the smaller tank. . The smaller tank has a fuel pump i believe it feeds the engine first and when it runs dry the main tank pumps kick in.

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

I dont know where youre looking but TX AZ and CA were popping up lots of gmt800 2500s 6.0s with under 150k for less than $8k. The 8.1s will command a premium because there just arent that many and the tow power is leaps and bounds over the 6.0s. There is a big demand for all the 2500s I lost out...

With a 02 its 50/50 on the 4l85e. Look for the MN8 rpo code in the glove box. 4l80e is MT1.

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

If your comparing the sequoia and the suburban you dont have to limit yourself to the gmt 800. For a comparable price you could go newer and look at the gmt900 1500 burbs. For savings and reliability there are a lot of gmt400 burbs out there with the 5.7 vortecs. Its not an LS motor but they are...
