    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

I think a lot of the things people are wanting are really unnecessary for the burbs at least those that are actually used. Like underbody armor and long travel lift kits. The burbs arent rock crawlers and most of the sensitive bits are fairly well protected as is. If people really plan on using...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

Rayra I dont think hes saying its completely flat on the burb, just flatter than the tahoe. The tahoe has a more drastic curve in between the front two bolts that the sub doesnt. On a burb its flat enough you could get away with a solid foot plate with a neoprene gasket under it. I also didnt...

Oh, the joys of vehicle shopping....

Theyre fleet vehicles so I have no idea on costs. Theyre driven primarily offroad, in rough very dusty conditions and can either be idling for hours, or accelerating to full throttle. Most people wont ever use em like that but just putting it out there.

Oh, the joys of vehicle shopping....

Martin just from a seat of the pants experience we have many f150 EBs at work some with the 2.7 most with the 3.5. Ive towed a 6.5k trailer in the same environment with both. If you are going to tow regularly I highly recomend the 3.5. The 2.7 did ok nothing really bad it required more throttle...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

It is crowned but when you place a neoprene spacer under the bracket it shouldnt be too bad. Its a very small amount over the distance between the pairs of bolts. If its too severe when I make them Ill modify them with as large a footprint as I can. I have a brake that will do 1/4", welders and...

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

I had the same thought. Im planning a new rack for the burb and will make all new brackets rails and bars from scratch. Mine will be similar but solid between each pair of bolts to spread the load.

    GMT400 - a love/hate relationship

I was just going off the average lot truck. It would make sense you could order what ever combo you wanted. As for the 10.5 or 11.5 im not really sure how to visually tell the difference. Im guessing my burb has the 10.5. I do have a 3500 allison back on the farm I would guess is a 11.5 but Im...

    GMT400 - a love/hate relationship

The only common denominator I can find on the 8600lb 2500 trucks is the engine size. It seems to be broken down by small block (5.7, 5.3, 6.0) have had the SF and the big blocks (7.4, 8.1) have the FF. Again this is only from what I REMEMBER seeing I havent found any documentation either way...

I actually found them online on some other site. I was looking at the duratracs and these popped up.

    Goodyear wrangler authority ATs

Anyone run these? Decent price semi aggresive tread for ATs. I have heard some friend of friend anecdotes about bad wear and chunking on fullsize HD trucks. I want first hand experience.

    GMT400 - a love/hate relationship

Its a crapshoot on the gmt400 2500s. There were 7200lb and 8600lb gvw trucks. I have never seen the 7200 with anything but the SF axle. I have seen the 8600lb with both. I have a 99 2500ccsb 8600lb truck with a FF. My buddy has the same truck with a SF. Every 3500 I have seen has been a FF...

    95-99 4 door Tahoe? Question

Dont know where you are but my LJY (deep S TX) has a BUNCH of rust free gmt400 and 800s in both tahoe and burb form. I would go get measurments for you but I havent had time to scratch my bum lately. If it fits I could pick one up but I dont know if it would be worth the shipping costs. I would...

    2004 8.1 Yukon

Its not about winning. I asked you to explain how one made the ride crappy and the other didnt when they are the exact same thing. If you say one makes it ride terrible and the other doesnt, explain why.

I have been told if you unhook the battery and then pull the fuse when you reconnect it wont throw codes. If that works you may then be able to remove the SCM.

    2004 8.1 Yukon

The 8.1 comes with pretty decent exhaust except for the 2 into 1 muffler. I think its all 3" tube. Headers will definately help it breathe, the stock manifolds are pretty restrictive.

    2004 8.1 Yukon

Do you not realize that changing keys are the exact same thing as cranked bars? Its the exact same thing. Whether you crank the bolts up on the existing keys or swap to new clocked keys it twists the Tbars which rotates the lower control arm down. There is absolutely no difference in ride at all...

    2004 8.1 Yukon

Immm baaaack. Anyways as for the smell go to your local rental shop and rent an ozone machine. Put in the burb turn it on shut the doors and let it run overnight and it will get rid of the stink. I second the notion of removing/replacing the carpet and (at least) the padding. I would remove the...

    1999 Chevy Suburban K2500

I already have the 12v and the 8.1 sitting there and I have an 8.1 in my suburban. Going to a 6.0 in a truck Im gonna rebuild from the ground up just isnt going to make me happy. Whether its the 6.0 or 8.1 I have to make the same changes. ECU, wiring harness, and exhaust manifolds. It already...
