Here's what it looked like the day we brought it home and the tow vehicle - my 3rd 4Runner:
..after removing the top/bows so it would fit in our garage:
Used some metal wire from HD to turn the drop-gate into a tail-gate
Wiring began. Ordered a 7 way trailer connector, a 7 pin junction...
Thought it was about time I make myself a build thread.
My fiancée and I picked up a 1984 M101A2 off of Craigslist. Didn't get a steal of a deal, but for $900 considering the trailer came in great condition, was already plated/registered and the seller included a nice Curt hitch, a lunette and...
Has anyone made an Expo West Instagram # so those of us unfortunate enough to not be there in person can see pictures of the expo if anyone takes them?
I have zero electrical experience, but I do want to learn and I'm committed to going about this slowly and doing it the right way. Looking for some help/confirmation from someone who knows what they are doing. I'm ready to order materials I just don't know what lengths of wire I need. My main...
From Dexter FAQ:
BRAKES - Why can't I lock and slide my electric brakes?
On an unloaded trailer, you may be able to lock up your brakes if your electric brake controller is supplying full amperage to the brakes. When loaded to capacity, you may not be able to lock your brakes as electric brakes...
Looking for two AT/MT with 50%+ tread life in LT 265/70/17 Load Range E. They are for a trailer project so I only need two.
Can Pay $150 for the pair.
Also looking for 2 Toyota Trail Edition Rims (17") either from an FJ or 4Runner and 2 Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers.
I wouldn't be too concerned if the trailer is open, but with an enclosed trailer you wouldn't want to run the risk of a leaking bottle building up gas in a confined area.
Noticed that the ends to two of my leaf springs are broken (see third leaf from the top in picture). I see dexter sells some 3500lb springs, but the price point makes them seem too good to be true. They would only be $140 or so compared to $600+ for a new set of custom leaf springs. I will be...
The part number is on there - just hard to find. Page 25. K23-086-00/K23-087-00. I called Dexter this morning and that is indeed the assembly with a cable-activated parking brake.
Where are you guys ordering dexter axles with the parking brake option? I want to keep the two independent parking brake handles on my M101A2 but can't seem to find an online retailer that has the parking brake backing plates as an option for a 3500lb axle.
Does Drive include forest service roads? N or S roads for example in California? I guess I was hoping that Motion X GPS could at least plot a route for you because it "knows" where roads are.
Maybe someone can help me out here...
I'm trying to use this app for the first time this weekend to give me a route to a campsite and track my driving around.
I have the campground waypoint set, but when I hit 'navigate' it just gives me a 'as the crow flies' navigation. That will be great...
