Wow . A bunch of opinions here .
You don't need a DRW . In fact they are pretty poor runners in deep snow. The rear wheels tend to pack up.
At $17, 000, I would be looking for gas not diesel.
I recommend a 4wd - Pick your brand ( I am a huge Ford fan ).
Don't even think about the Tundra...
Your design looks good . I'd ditch the angle and run tubing everywhere.
Screw don't glue the inner panels to the chassis of the shell.
1" R-Tech ( home despot ) for insulation. You will be light years ahead of anything offered by FWC.
And 1/10th the cost.
If you add a 3" overhang to the rear...
You were 8 miles from my shop. The wreck pictured is the Peter Iredale. A local land mark.
This beach was once considered part of the coastal highway (Warrenton to Tillamook Head ) before the completion of 101.
It's a good drive. The approaches can be tricky from time to time.... I can't count...
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The damn thing tends to draw a crowd wherever I go.
I've been approached to build another unit similar to the first.
Who knows. There may be a few more of these on the trail in the future.

Been busy with the restoration of a tow behind for the BIG TRIP.
1959 Crestliner Buccaneer.

An update: A rather big one.....
Brantley. Born July the 12th at 4:45 pm in Portland. 6lb 7oz.
My new best friend...... Life will never be the same....
To all that care.... The studies I listed are EV specific ,credit several different sources not just one... nor do I post my opinion only, like others.

Well , time for an update:
Plans like life have a habit of changing.
My daughter is expecting our first grand child this July so staying close to home has become a priority.
To occupy my time I am prepping the shop for the restoration of a 1960 15' Crestliner Buccaneer .
This will be a tow...

Will be heading your way this fall . May have to look you up....

There would also be a few issues one would have to overcome.
#1 would be fueling the truck.
A problem for some flat beds. Especially those with dual or rear tanks.
