    Cab over clearance

You can use lumber or you can use 1-2" thick sheet of ridged foam insulation. This works very well and is light enough as not to be such a pain to install every time you load the camper. I have a good friend that I travel with who has been carrying a 10' Bigfoot on an 06 super duty this way...

A set came on the truck pictured. Billet aluminum. I won't be needing them as the coach width is the same as the cab. PM me and we can exchange in formation . You pay the postage and there yours.

Side view mirrors mounted to the cab over?

I couldn't get your link to work. Pictured are the hoop style mirrors that Ford used on many trucks. If this is what you have I will gladly send you the slides that will extend them . You would have to provide your own carriage bolts and wing nuts though . The set I have were used with non...

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm nearly finished with the project and for once in my long life it looks like I timed it right. We should get a lot of use out of the rig this year.

Can't find what I want so the build begins.

I finally started to fabricate the retractable stairs for the coach. I will post up pics at a later date. This will likely take a while as I am recovering from an ATV crash that has severally limited my movement around the shop. I hate getting old.

Liquid nails will harden to a brittle consistency that will fail. The Gorilla glue stays very pliable when set.

Steel frame with skin? What material choices?

Gorilla glue makes a great construction adhesive. I just used it for the first time while rebuilding my son in-laws vintage camper. I like it allot and will be utilizing it on my next build.

6 in. lift on a dually - opinions please

A 6" lift on a Dually is sort of a waist of time and money. If one is doing it for tire size it's tough to fit a set of say 37" tires on dually rims without having issues. Then there is the re-gear required for such a tire size. The sway control required to keep a 3000 lb camper stable at...
