Combo Water Boiler/Furnace Heater Now Here in N. America

Your opinion was rather useless since it was only based on some things you read on the internet and not actual experience, and when asked to provide some examples you refused to do so.

Truck bed comparison - custom options

Highway products is $$$ add in all the custom work and you are looking at a lot of money. I just had a custom flatbed made by an awesome fabricator in San Diego contact on IG @mountainguildoverland . I specifically needed a 'torsion free' mount at the front for a future camper but he can...

    New Camper Hauler

Wheels are rated for 4,500 lbs. Tire are rated for 4,000 lbs. at 65 psi I have thought about switching to 37x13.5x17 Toyos for 4,300 lb capacity. I have my Northstar camper and spare wheel on the flatbed now, it weighs 6,800 on the rear axle but the camper is pushed back some due to the...

    New Camper Hauler

Not yet, saving some more cash since I will be DIY'ing the interior I want to have enough money to do it all in go when I have spring off from work. So I would like to be done by May. I plan to hopefully get the box done by Feb.

    New Camper Hauler

Added info. The flat bed was custom built by @mountainguildoverland. It is a captive spring mount in the front, and the boxes are big enough to house my 2000 watt Honda generator. I plan to figure out a way to run the generator in the box at some point. Plans are for a TotalComposites flat...

    Timbren SES Suspension!

Slide in camper for offroad use, do you recommend the single or double convoluted Timbrens? The doubles look like they would have more travel and provide a better loaded ride. I am way under the GVWR, so don't need a ton of support just some extra sway control.

    Truma Combi? users comments?

I have heard that about Truma NA, it's hard to make sense of it though because in Europe Truma does sell direct to the consumer I believe.

    Truma Combi? users comments?

Thank you! I have been waiting for Truma to be available in the NA market. Is this a limited on hand product or will you be able to get more in the future?

Gasoline vs. Propane appliances? Which is a better way to go?

I used propane in Mexico for 4 months and didn't have to refill once, but my fridge runs on DC. There is no way I would travel to mexico or anywhere south with a propane fridge. I also wasn't using the heater much if at all, only for cooking. I did meet people who refilled propane in Mexico...

    Aluminum flat bed options?

If you check out @mountainguildoverland on IG he can build an aluminum flatbed however you like with a 'captive spring mount' up front to relieve the torsional stress when offroad, he built mine in steel since that is what I wanted but he specializes in aluminum.

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

I went with a captive spring mount in the front on my cab chassis 3500. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the mount and because the boxes are in the way now I am unable to get a good shot of the mounting system. If you want, you can check out some photos and videos of it being built...

What is the length of the box portion of the camper? And what is your cab to axle length? It looks like 60"

    5500 campers real life experience

Figure out what camper you want, then decide on the truck. A Ram 3500 dually chassis would be plenty for a non slide camper. If you are looking at run of the mil campers non pop up, I would go with either Cirrus, Northernlite, or Bigfoot. I wouldn't even consider the others, personal...

    New Camper Hauler

I have 4.10 gears and with the small dually tires was really turning some RPM. I believe it was a combination of removing the duallys, going to a taller AT tire with no lift that really helped. I believe my effective gear ratio is somewhere around 3.63. Stock SRW trucks are 3.42 on stock tires...

Thanks. Surprisingly my MPG actually went up when I switched the duallys out for the 37's.

New Alaskan side entry flatbed 8.5' build!!

How has the camper been holding up as far as a longer term review? What would you do different? I have considered a 10 ft flatbed Alaskan, but bryan didn't seem to jazzed about doing a grey tank and shower set up.

Lets see some full size pictures...

Not at this time, just some trimming for the 37" tires. The boxes are still higher off the ground than the lowest part of the undercarriage, but they do stick it out some. The flatbed is designed for camper.
