I am assuming you are running the stock 3.42 gears, if that is the case I can see going with a 305/70/18. I had really good luck with the Cooper StMaxx on my prior truck with the 295/70/18 StMaxx tires and got over 50k out of them with some really hard use.
My current truck came with 4.10's...
If you are looking at fords you can pick up a newer gas truck, even cheaper if it's a regular cab. Personally I can't stand crew cab trucks, even more so south of the border. They make driving around especially small market towns a pain in the ass. Unless you have a large family etc. get the...
I think it is more around a few inches difference if you are talking the standard Ram dually. It's closer on the cab and chassis with the front hub spacer removed. The rear axle lengths are different from the cab and chassis as compared to the regular dually pickup
Not yet, I just finished removing the duals in the back and installing the new tires/wheels. Still have the fronts to do but waiting till saturday when the weather improves. I will try to post a picture when finished.
I also have to drive the truck to San Diego end of next week to start the...
I hear you on the fake beadlock look. I ended up going with fake beadlocks though, mainly because there were not really any other options out there for my needs. I thought about AEV's but the only tire option that would work for me was 37x13.5 Toyo MT and I didn't want to deal with the weight of...
1997 2500 12 Valve 4x4 Cummins with 5-Speed Manual Transmission Asking $10,000
I am the second owner of this truck, the previous owner was from Southern Utah (non salted roads) and took excellent care of it. Since I have owned it I have continued with that, oil changes, filters, etc.
This...
You now have the strongest tires available. You can never go wrong with the Toyo MT 37x13.5, there is no comparison.
I wish there were more 131 load index tires available.
There is also the option of a compromise 18" wheel with 37" tires. For example, 37" ridge grappler (hybrid on/off road) E rated 3,968 lbs at 65 PSI with Method HD wheels rated at 4,500 lbs in +18 offset.
Do you get any sway bar or radius arm rub with the 13.5 wide Toyos and AEV rims? I am picking up a 3500 this week and going with AEV wheels but unsure about tires, I know AEV said they don't recommend a 13.5 wide tire, but it appears to be impossible to find tires that can match the load rating...
If it makes you feel better I drove through a micro burst like mini tornado in eastern Colorado with my hardside. A few tractor trailers got turned over and one RV trailer flipped.
