Truck and tire suggestions for heavy Arctic Fox camper?

I don't think the it means much, but I believe the "F" rated tires are rated capacity but at 80 psi, in other words, hard as a rock. The Toyo MT inflation chart is interesting when comparing different PSI to the load carrying ability of the tires.

Did someone replace the original motor with a 12 valve cummins? I didn't think they came with those.

New Alaskan side entry flatbed 8.5' build!!

What do you think made the most difference with the suspension modifications? I know the Kings are expensive, curious if they are worth it.

Iveco Eurocargo ML150E24 4x4 RV Expedition Truck, new custom build!

Can't import new ones into the USA. How do you plan to handle high sulfur diesel in parts of the world like Africa and Central America? Does this truck use DEF (diesel exhaust fluid)?

Finally!! Direct bolt 1 piece aluminum 20x10 super singles F450/F550

Makes more sense, It looks like the only capacity you would have to worry about is the tires, at 8,000 lbs for the pair. The only 275/80/20 I have found is the MPT 81, not sure of tread life or balance issues with it since I have no experience with this tire. There is a guy parked next to me...

Finally!! Direct bolt 1 piece aluminum 20x10 super singles F450/F550

I might be missing something here, but why go through with the expense just to have a 20x9 instead of a 20x11. Why not just run a 37x13.5 tire on the 20x11? If 37's clear on the Ford without a lift, would it negate the need for a keldermen?

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

You are definitely going to want gears for those tires to save the transmission. 4:88 would probably be perfect. Do you have lockers front and rear?

7 minute GXV Turtle Tour video

Great Video. How long can you go before having to empty the Separett toilet? I am trying to decide between the weekender or the other version.

Adding a rear seat to composite camper with shoulder harness intended for family to travel in in order to avoid a crew cab

How much smaller of a chassis? It doesn't seem you have many alternatives besides what you have. I could see , doing a similar camper but on a regular cab, same length but you gain more camper space. Can the child ride in the middle of a bench seat on a regular cab truck? Crew cabs eat up a...

Line x bedliner to seal up Alaskan Camper? Rot prevention?

Thanks for the info, from my research the RV stuff appears to have a lot more elongation and watching it applied appears to be a little bit thicker. I think it lacks the abrasion quality that the line x has though, probably not an issue. It would be nice if Alaskan Campers would just spray the...

Line x bedliner to seal up Alaskan Camper? Rot prevention?

I have thought about purchasing an Alaskan Camper, one of the drawbacks is the typical old school wood/siding/sealant method of construction. I wish they would try to be a little more innovative or use at least wood boat building techniques but I don't see that happening. One method about how to...

Expedition Vehicles: ridiculously overpriced or not

Small is great for weekend trips. Those trips are not on any level of full time living and traveling especially in hot tropical climates.

    2019 Ram

I'm disappointed, I was looking to order a new Ram 5500 but I fail to see anything about 19 that is a great improvement. I could careless about a lot of stupid tech unless it yielded more reliability and MPGs. I was also hoping for an 8 spd. trans. Will have to see if any 18's get a heavy...

Expedition Vehicles: ridiculously overpriced or not

Not trying to be gruff but if someone can spend 200k on a luxary item, I don't think 50K is going to stop them from ordering the truck with the fancy tires and hutchinson wheels. I would bet that 99% of adventure trucks sold will have that package. Same with earth roamer, none in the last 3...

Wide vs. Narrow tire size for Truck Campers

I don't notice it, but then I drive an old loud diesel that you can't hear much of anything inside anyways. I bet the Toyo atll are probably quieter. For me the tradeoff is worth it.

Wide vs. Narrow tire size for Truck Campers

I have 295/70/18 Cooper ST Maxx tires 34.25x12x18 tires. Currently they have 50K miles on them. They have survived two Baja trips with some offroad thrown in all the way down to the bottom of the Peninsula and one trip through Mainland Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and are on their second...
