    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

what gears are in the truck? I would think you would want at least 4.30 or higher for those 37's, I also hear they are heavy, and don't balance well. I don't have experience with them, but would consider trying them if my 2nd gen Dodge did not have 3.55 gears, and I am too cheap to change them.

The Original EarthRoamer. New ER2K Owner With Some Show and Tell

Thanks Tom, looks like they are holding up, I am trying to avoid drilling into my roof, I looked into the 3m stuff, but don't think it will work on my rubber roof, still researching, but will probably have to drill. Darwin

    NEW 2015 3/4t 4x4 pickup CHOICES/features/value/reviews/experiences/etc.

An XP camper loaded and ready to roll is going to be a solid 3000 lbs. Marc the owner of XP campers recommends a 1 ton. So why are you considering a 3/4 ton again? Still have not figured that out, especially since you are buying new.

    NEW 2015 3/4t 4x4 pickup CHOICES/features/value/reviews/experiences/etc.

The 2500 or 3/4 ton is the halfway house for overlanders who previously owned a toyota or similar and want a full size to carry a truck camper. It makes no sense, get the one ton, and even consider a dually if you are not rock crawling.

building the "rambo-lance", a 3 year project, starting now. 3 Ambulance currently

With the right wheels and suspension, plenty of people are running 37 inch toyos on a 3 inch lift and they are 14 inchs wide! Edit: I forgot this is going on a leaf sprung truck.

Custom Camper Build - f-350 vs 450/3500 vs 4500, GVRW, Gas

I would say Ram, but only because of the Cummins diesel, when it comes to gas, I don't see that much of a difference between the two. Take your pick. If you are looking at cab and chassis trucks, I see no reason to get the 3500 or 4500 when you can get the 5500, more payload that way and the...

building the "rambo-lance", a 3 year project, starting now. 3 Ambulance currently

9 inchs lift sounds huge, I know many on here are more fans of (for practical purposes and expo) the least amount of lift with the largest tire possible within reason, think AEV ram build, but if you are going for 'looks' then I suppose 9 inches of lift would be that to some people. Anyways, I...

2nd gen Dodge, largest size spare in stock location

Back at ya, let me know. I did see where someone, not sure if it was an employee of carli or what, but they did manage a 37 under their 3rd gen, but it was a BFG, so a little smaller than a true 37 tire.

2nd gen Dodge, largest size spare in stock location

Wondering what the largest size spare I might be able to fit in the stock location on a 97 CTD. Trying to decide what what wheel tire combo I want to go with, it would be nice to have a full size spare in the stock location to keep the COG low with the Northstar slide in camper. I have heard...

Biodiesel use in overlander rigs- have you tried it? What happened?

I don't see it being a problem, but expect to pay at least $1 or more per gallon than pump diesel. Maybe mix 50/50 with regular diesel so you can benefit from lubricity of it.

MY DREAM BUILD… ULTRA-LIGHT "GO FAST" CAMPER.

This whole thread sounds like a troll, it should be moved to "fireside chat." The OP wants a Unicorn, something that would have to break the laws of physics to work. Accomplishing something that would meet most of his needs would require a great deal of money and time, by the time it's done...

Oh boy. -NOW a build thread

Any thought of changing to a single rear wheel? I know you mentioned somewhere that you feel dually is safer with a camper, and I agree having a single rear wheel truck, it has me thinking about going to a dually in the future, like a ram 3500 regular cab. Do you plan to stick with the same...

    Test

Love your truck, I think regular cabs are awesome, good payload, tighter turning radius and an 8 foot. bed. The Toyo MT's do look good on it, but I have the same problem on one of my second gens with it, the drone and noise drives me crazy, everything else I like about them. I am thinking...

    Holy Grail Truck

How are you liking the 285/75/18 Toyos in that size? Have you had your camper on the new truck yet? I am thinking about going with that size Toyo on my second gen. I do have a five speed and at 65 I am turning 2000 rpms, I would like to drop that to 17 or 1800 with the Toyos. I also have a...
