I noticed that since this thread started, Phoenix campers no longer posts on Expedition Portal. Seems like bad business to not try and make this wrong a right.
I really don't see 4 being comfortable at all in a 4wheel camper granby, you and wife maybe. You would probably better off in a large tent. The best option I can think of would a one ton 3500 4 door crew cab, with a custom northstar camper. They make a hard sided camper that is for a flat bed...
I also don't understand. Why not just get a crew cab Ram 5500 cab and chassis with the longer wheel base option and mount the Cube to that? It's already available at any dealer lot, 4 wheel drive, etc.
Agreed with what has been said above. Out of curiosity, do people get any royalties or money with having a blog? Is that why many post links to their blogs on this forum never to add anything to expo community?
How much do you want to spend? Do you mind if it has emission equipment on it or will tolerate higher sulpher diesel? New ones have expensive electronics, complicated fuel systems, injectors that go out and cost a lot to replace.
I am bias and choose the reliable inline six 12 valve Cummins...
I would stick with what you have. Building up an 'ambo' is going to take a lot of time, plus the short wheelbase of the single cab will be nicer for driving around time when you get to where you are going.
I didn't see any Procomp at's in 13.5 inch wide. The Nittos would be one option for something different. It still sounds like toyo M/T's would be your best bet if you want to stick with the dubs.
Sounds like sticking with Toyos would be your best bet unless you are looking for a more at type tire. They also have the toyo r/t that comes in 20's.
I second switching to more expo 17's over the 20's based on the 4300 lb load range and personal opinion that they look better than 20's.
Not trying to threadjack, but curious why you are selling your ford lance 825 combo? It looked like a nice set up as far as I could tell. Are you going to something different?
Is there any difference between using a tablet and GPS for on road travel outside the usa, for example central america? I am a super newbie about a lot of this, I just recently purchased my first 'smartphone' a sony xperia z3 compact. The first thing I did is download nokia Here maps, with...
Not a bad deal on that Alaskan. You have anyway to contact the guy? It won't let me reply from the craigslist ad, and no phone number.
Edit: Nevermind figured it out.
Did the tires end up fitting with no rub using just the Carli springs and short arms? Also can't remember if you said what offset those Walker Evans wheels are?
How's the camper been? Still using it for work? I work nights at a hospital in various locations, maybe Denver next...thinking about getting an alaskan to save on temp. apartment headaches.
