Truckcampermagazine just bought a new ram 3500 gas truck and provided a review. If i remember right, it got pretty good gas milage.

I would go for the Toyo's, the BFG's get a have a rap amongst cummins owners.

Any update on this project? Have you driven the truck with the Conti's yet? and if so how does it ride? Excited to see how the camper turns out.

That is a really amazing looking set up. It looks like a nice hybrid of a hard side and soft side pop camper, best of both. I am a little confused about this though. Why no genny? I get the solar part and it seems like the way to go, but why not have both? You would still need to be plugged...

Sounds pretty neat, I am glad they decided to do this. I also like how they got rid of the window in the back door. Northstar seems to be keen on trying new things, I just wish they would try some other materials for construction methods. You can read all about it here...

Have you thought about 22.5's? it would allow you to run 37 inch tires, similar to what they put on Earthroamers, or 19.5's with 35 inch tires.

My apologies. I haven't seen many duallys on here with that kind of tire set up. You might have better luck with one of the various powerstroke forums. It sounds like a nice a truck for your application.

I have absolutely no experience with a dually let alone on 20's or 22's. I can say that on wheels like that the ride must be pretty harsh. I don't think I would call 22's "expo," but maybe in Cali? I have heard the "cen cal" look is popular there, so I don't know.

I believe you need a DRW for a Host camper, they are pretty heavy.

Looking for updates on anyone running Heims or TRE's. I know extreme overkill fab is making a T style steering for dodge rams. Could be another option over 99HD set up for 2nd gen cummins.

I had no idea ULSD was available in Mexico. I have heard some stations not far from the border had it, but farther south it was all LSD. I know some places in Panama have it, but I doubt the OP will make it from Nogalas to Panama on a tank. :) The OP also lives in CA, I dont think he will be...
