Very nice build! Looking forward to see where it goes from here. I'm also considering picking up a 1st gen tundra to build.
As for the 6112's, I run them on my 4th gen 4runner and find them to be as close to a rebuildable coilover as you can get. I'm pretty happy with them so far. That being...
My wife is from the Belcourt area and a lot of her family is in Rolla/Grand Forks. Her dad said he got some pretty good snow. It figures the good snow hits the year we're not going north.
I would look at Northstar AGM batteries. I'm impressed with mine so far. I haven't heard good things about Optima batteries lately even though they were my go-to battery years ago.
Both those TRDP's are soooo nice. I finally put some money down and jumped on the waiting list for a cement double cab yesterday. No ETA, actually no guarantee I will even get the combo I want but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Sounds like you were right where you needed to be at that moment. Rescue animals make some of the best pets.
Were you planning on going to the Wolf Sanctuary south of Grants? I've never been there but the rest of my family has been there and they really liked it (seems like I'm always working...
I absolutely love how this truck has evolved! Keep the updates and pics coming!
I was hoping it was going to be at this years FJ summit but I didn't see it there.
Looks good! I will also be purchasing a Tundra within the next couple months. Hoping to find exactly what you have but if not I will settle for the regular TRD package Tundra. What size Toyos did you go with? Did you also replace the spare tire?
Looks good!
I also prefer a tall, narrow tire. Currently I'm running 255/80/17 ST Maxx on my 2008 4runner and may put a set of those on my 2014 4runner as well. I do know how you feel about the power loss. I had to tow a couple of heavy trailers after getting the 255's and the power loss was...
I like what you did with the exhaust. I was laying under my 4th gen looking at possible ways to re-route it just yesterday. Have you had any issues with the exhaust running close to the fuel tank? Any other issues?
Sounds like an awesome trip and amazing pics! Definitely on my bucket list.
Moab in May seems to be very busy. We went to Moab on Labor day weekend and found it to be a lot less busy.
1. Year, color, options, etc... 2008, Black, SR5 4x4 V6, sunroof, tow package.
2. Name of owner/screen name/truck name... Ron. I never really named this 4runner.
3. How long have you owned your 4rd Gen? I have owned it since late October 2008. How many have you owned? I had always wanted a...
