I'm going to guess you have a bad wheel and/or diff bearing. Could also be the front diff is not disengaging when it should. Some other possibilities are, brake caliper sticking, parking brake sticking, bad u-joints.

I like the ARB skid idea. May just have to build one myself. What is the backspacing of your wheels? If it's 4-4.5" you shouldn't need the wheel spacers. I'm not a big fan of spacers anyway though.

If you don't really see yourself lifting it then the TRDP is a good option in my opinion. The price sounds fair for a TRDP as well.
