There are multiple reasons for this, 1) IFS is more complex and limiting when it comes to lifts, it's also weaker than a straight axle especially when under a loaded down HD truck 2) GM quality (or lack thereof) is a joke 3) Design characteristics already touched upon in this thread but also to...
Not gonna lie, the single knob adjuster and the fact that it's easier to get to when on the truck were two of the main reasons why I went with the King's over the Fox 2.5's.
I just don't agree with the logic of swapping out axles on a brand new truck when you can do lockers for the diesel, they are available. But it's your money and your warranty so knock yourself out if neither is a factor for you. I am not opposed to helping others spend their money, just ask...
The reason people are suggesting a 3500 is for the better payload and stability when carrying a heavy payload. The ride won't be comparable to a 2500 with rear coils, that's a given.
Yes, fuel range on the PW sucks. They get 14-16 mpg at best in stock form (tiny 33's), throw on some 37's...
A few upgrades this week. New King 2.5's from AccuTune and the BMC Apex XL Baja Designs XL80/S1 combo I got lightly used from another member here getting out of his Tremor.
We've recently looked at late model Escape 21 and 23 as well as an Oliver Elite II. Much to my surprise, my wife said she far and away prefers the Oliver. I couldn't be any more pleased to hear her utter those words. It sounds like I will eventually get to acquire my dream camper, an Oliver...
Maybe some of that but most sheer stubbornness and a mildly concerning lack of fear for sketchy situations lol. I'd do it again if the opportunity presents itself but my current truck has a horrid turning radius compared to the PW and that would make things even more sketchy lol.
I've had both and I find myself torn in this comparison. IMHO if you want to spend less then get the RAM Power Wagon, if you want a Jeep Rubicon Gladiator on a 3/4-ton chassis with a V8 get a Power Wagon. If you want the better overall truck that's an actual 3/4-ton in every aspect get the Ford...
Wrap guy as in the shop that applies vinyl wraps to vehicles. And yes, I am having him cover the steel shock bodies in PPF aka paint protection film.
I will try running without the front and see how I like it before I make any other changes. I like the construction of Fox shocks better than...
I wanted to try the Fox but they did say they aren't as plush. Right now I have the factory sway bar on but I'd remove it before I'd pay for the Carli torsion. I've spoked with quite a few who have had it and most just ditched it with better results. I figure it's free to try that route first...
