Removed the radiator tonight. I can visibly see the little holes on the inside gunked up with a light grey/greenish jive. I really can't complain about having to replace it, 14 years out of a radiator is a solid run. The new OEM radiator looks so nice.

For what it is worth, they do not use the plastic stakes anymore...they all come with 9" (or 12"?) angled steel stakes now.

I rec'd the oil from AJIK Overland Exchange. I am not sure on what quantity the container was. I do know it was the 15,000 weight. From what I read, it was 35ml in the clutch.

Running around a bit this AM, I didn't get past 200 degrees. I will have my buddy who works on my truck (ex-Toyota mechanic turned firefighter) do that gear oil swap. Is it worth it to swap out the thermostat just for PM sake?

Clutch fan and radiator are original. I have 189K on the clock. I just drained the fluid and added a fresh round of coolant/water mix. I am not pulling the loads now, but I didn't hit 200 last night. It is set to be hotter today, so I will drive it around and see how it fares. Perhaps it is...

Wondering what people with 80's have for coolant temperatures? I was up to 221 at one point this weekend, ran around at 200-212 the remainder on the road. Full load, a/c on, 65 mph. ~100 degrees ambient temps in the Utah deserts.

Springbars are perfect for what you describe. They can be ordered with big sand stakes that make it nice and secure in the loosest of sand. The Campsite 3 is around $500, and the Traveler (slightly larger) is about $600. Your other option would be to go with a convertible 3/4 season tent, or...

Yes, the 4x4 Labs. I wish I had done that first, rather than the front bumper. I am very pleased with it, except for the powdercoating-it was rusting through within a year. My ARB front didn't start seeing rust until 3+ years...

I just experienced a similar situation on my LX at 187k, it was the motor mounts. I get a whine, but that is due to the resonator not being present on my truck.
