Looks great. I like the lines and the overall simplicity of your rig.
The idea of combustion and CO inside the (mostly) closed space makes me really nervous -- I lost a cousin to CO poisoning a couple of years ago so I'm twice careful. Promise us you'll be sensitive to the risks!

I just don't have the problem others do with C-channel vs boxed frame sections.
My old 1981 Toyota pickup, with a nice fully-boxed frame, had significant perforating corrosion around the rear spring hangers when I moved it on (after 28 years!). I gotta think the design was part of that.
I'm...
I must be doing something wrong with my iPhone 4S. For all the discussion I read about it being the only camera I need, the pix I take simply suck by comparison even my most simple point and shoot (Canon Powershot SD870is). And that's with trying some of the upgraded apps, like the one Smugmug...
Thanks for the good info, Jonathan. Seems like both vehicles are designed with the different uses and environments they encounter in their respective markets -- generally appropriately, IMHO. I would offer a small diesel in the US market, though, if I were in charge. Someday... They didn't...
Umm... the writeup talked about soldering wires, which is a big difference from welding. Maybe you should be careful about tackling this if you're not looking for a mechanical challenge. It doesn't look hard, but it will take a certain comfort level wrenching on your truck.

I kinda like that one! I'm sure it would get around, just not very fast or very economically. Jeep made a lot of the XJs in 2WD and 4WD back then. I dunno about a 1 ton chassis. Is that 4WD?

I've spent lots of time in rheology, the flow of materials, but that's usually fluids not gases...
I kinda like this thinking. If one looks at most recent fixed radio antennas, they're non-uniform in cross section with sort of an spiral pattern. Most current sunroof deflectors have a...

Looks cool:
This is the rarest of the rare a 1985 VW LT35 firetruck with differential lock in super solid condition. It has original 22,244 kilometers (about...
Another one... This time a 1978 Series III built for the Queen is being put up for auction by the MOD.

In the vintage British sportscar world brake fluid is often used to rejuvenate old rubber. Brake fluids are formulated with solvents to swell and soften rubber a little bit. I've had decent luck with rubber that is in OK shape. Once it's petrified it's gone.
I'd avoid silicones. I have no love...
Those kinds of things are all over Asia, especially southeast Asia, in near infinite variety. Mechanical mules for the most part -- not really transportation. Ya gotta love the ingenuity, though.

Looks kinda like the pop up trailer version of Red Bull Flugtag engineering. I was ready to see it pushed off into a lake as well. Not impressed, I gotta admit.

These are made in USA, yes? That's a strong plus for many of us, and we appreciate Warn's committment to making stuff here and being more competitive for it.

Christian, have y'all thought about a small version Maya Rally sticker -- four or five inches, similar to the smaller CT stickers from years past -- that those of us who lamentably but not unexpectedly aren't able to carve out the time to make the rally could use to show our affiliation to it?
