    Chinese Air Locker

My dad, a schoolteacher, used to tell his two boys, "we're not rich enough to afford cheap tools". The money spent replacing cheap tools, or work damaged by them, and the time lost make good tools the better investment in the long run -- at least for me. China can make first quality stuff...

    Finepix x100

B&H Photo has the Fuji Finepix X100 on their website now, taking email addresses for notification when it's in stock. No price. (And no affiliation with B&H, except good service in past transactions) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/751784-REG/Fujifilm_16128244_Finepix_X100_12_MP.html

Canon Lens 24-105 mm 1:1 Coffee Cup Mug $10 off

That's a cool item, Mike. I might have to get one of those to use along with my near-antique Saab oil filter-replica coffee cup!

Seen in Panama - which model is this? New HZJ78 short base

The LC 71 series is described pretty well on the Toyota Colombia website: http://www.toyota.com.co/land-cruiser-71-cabinado-corto.html

    Jerry Can Holders

Here's one of my favorite jerrycan holders... On one of the course vehicles I see every year at the Monaco Grand Prix. An aging, hard-working Hilux 4WD with with solid axles, split rims, and a bed lined in checkerplate.

PARK Truing Stand, tilting base and alignment gauge.

Bump for some great tools. I've had this set for a number of years, and my friends and I have built up a number of wheels. They've been strong, stable wheels for many, many miles. If you've never built a set of wheels but are interested, jump in and don't be afraid. It's not as hard as it looks.

Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series steel wheels on 2001 Tacoma?

They might not stick out further on an 80-series. Need to check against the backspacing of your originals. Most of the earlier comments about sticking out were not LC based, and I don't know the details for all the LC series. Plenty of folks here do, though... These wheels have a...

Get a brand new Lada Niva and go see the world!

I spent some time a couple of years ago at the Paris Auto Show sitting in and looking around the latest Lada Niva. Just as primitive and tough as I remember from the Canadian imports I used to see in the Northeast in the early 80s. They're very much in production. I'll scan and insert the...

    Disco Heat

If this were an XJ Cherokee, I'd say air in the cooling system. Temperatures shooting up and down really fast sound more like a measurement issue. My British experience is all prehistoric, like my '62 TR3B, so I'm not your best source of info. The title of this thread, though, does take an...

Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series steel wheels on 2001 Tacoma?

I have these wheels now in my garage, awaiting some time and warmer temperatures to mount (most probably) BFG AT 235/85-16 tires on them. My estimates show a net offset increase, as I recall, of +0.5 inches. I expect no issues with clearance, bearing loads, suspension geometry with tall...

    Ultimate Expedition Compact Camera Discussion

I had a Canon S90 for a time, but that "loose" ring really bugged me, plus the fact that I really couldn't get any bokeh during realistic shooting conditions. Yes, I'd be interested in S95 comments, too. I have a Canon Powershot SD870 IS that consistently turns into my carry camera. Nothing...

new Eye-Fi X2 connects to your smart phone

I've had one of the original-style Eye-Fi Share SD cards for more than a year, and I like it. Useful for backing up photos. The software really doesn't give me some of the organizing options I want -- or at least I haven't figured out how to do what I want. For example, my photos transfer...
