    Cool Tool

Yeah - a good quality come-a-long can be a great recovery tool. But the small one that's the subject of this thread is only rated up to 600 lbs.

    Cool Tool

x2. This tool has TONS of potential uses with SAR, trail repairs, using it in the garage... Heck - I bet this thing would be really handy on deployment (maybe I can get the Navy to buy one for me ;) ). But there are about two-dozen other things on my "Need / Want" list in that price range.

    Flag Pole

Yeah! I think I'm going to add one of these to my Trailer. ...Now where can we get a SoCal TTORA flag?

    Flag Pole

How do you put it together, or extend it, or lock it into place, or whatever? Did it come in that nifty flip-top tube, or did you make that?

    ARB Fridge question

So if I buy a fridge and transit bag any time soon, I'll probably still get the velcro with inferior adhesive, huh?

Coleman Hot Water On Demand - Review

Update: Sorry - no pictures this time... But at the Overland Expo, I finally got to use my camp shower. There were no surprises, it worked out exactly like I thought it would with no problems! My wife and I each took 2 showers, and we only used about 5 - 6 Liters of water per shower. My...

    Ironman 4x4 Dual Battery Kit

**EDIT** I thought I remembered reading a recent article about Ironman 4x4 in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine. I looked in the January/February issue, and found it! CAMEL 4X4 is Ironman 4x4's exclusive distributor for the USA & Canada. Ironman 4x4 275-amp Dual Battery Kit is $335 from Camel 4x4! I...

    Ironman 4x4 Dual Battery Kit

I'm interested in this 275 amp Dual Battery Kit from Ironman 4x4. ...but you can't buy it from the website. I talked to the Ironman guys at the Overland Expo, but I just assumed I could buy straight from them... Are any of our sponsors dealers for Ironman?

Overland Expo: Official Daily Update Thread

When we left the camp ground on Monday morning, there were about 3 vehicles left. But before we left, we walked around the camp ground to pick up trash. We ended up with about the same amount that's pictured above. ...and most of the trash that we picked up, we noticed was really weathered. It...

    Heavy Duty Canopies / Shelters

Sweet! ...that might be just the ticket for me. How difficult is it for 1 person to set up?

    Heavy Duty Canopies / Shelters

Yeah - some guys that were camping near me at the Overland Expo had something very similar. I really liked it, but wondered if it would just become a sail in high winds.

    Heavy Duty Canopies / Shelters

RJ's awning is too small. That thing is like 4' x 6'. My canopy tent was 10' x 10' and that was almost too small! Yes - I have also thought of mounting an awning to the trailer. That was the original plan. But I have looked at it, and I think it will interfere too much with the opening &...

    Heavy Duty Canopies / Shelters

I had the Camping Lab "Gazebo". They got rid of what they had in their inventory, and no longer carry it anymore for this exact reason. I have thought about a vehicle mounted awning a lot. But I think I would really rather not - for a couple of reasons. In a situation where I'm traveling from...

    Heavy Duty Canopies / Shelters

This past week at the Overland Expo we had a little bit of wind. Nothing that I would call strong by any means. It would seem that the wind that we did get was enough to pretty much ruin my 10' x 10' canopy tent. No big loss. It was a $50 special... OX10 was the very first time I had ever even...

    Expeditionware can holders

You need to be able to open it more than 2" - 3"! With a can in the holder you can't remove the strap at all. To get the can out, you have to open it to about a 45* or 50* angle. With no can in the holder, the strap will come right off.

    Fzj62

If it's on the up-and-up, i'd buy it. I would have it checked out my a reputable mechanic - one that's familiar with Cruisers, if possible. Make sure all the electronics work (windows / locks / etc). FJ62s are notorious for electrical gremlins, that are hard to fix due to limited parts...
