Okay, that's really different, but pretty trick. I'd have been happier with some additional ground clearance and it looks pretty wide, but just inventing it up took notable skill, let alone building it out. Kudos to "Lloyd."
I'd have loved it if he'd written up a nice build thread. There must...
Thanks for the posti I'd not known there was any serious stuff for this bike. It'd be an interesting build, for sure.
Others will soon arrive with more detailed information, but it seems to me that it'd be a highly usable step up from street-oriented dual-sport bikes like the F650GS, but that...
You all have been impressively patient, and I've routinely felt badly about not having any useful information to share.
That said, Red Cannon is presenting next Monday in front of a gaggle of venture capitalists, the outcome of which will influence their next steps. I therefore expect I'll have...
I think most of us who have had Unimogs will encourage you if you're prepared to view Mog ownership as an interesting and adventurous hobby, but would warn that you'll be less happy if you expect to get a truck that is fast, mainstream and suitable for either slogging through traffic or for a...
Figure about 6 inches on the stock tires, possibly 7 inches or a bit more with a modest upsizing of tires. A Sprinter starts at about 7, and writeups say the 4x4 option adds 4.3 inches to that. Yipes.
FWIW, my negativity yesterday on the Promaster's low stance may have been overdone. The van...
:iagree:
Though if you run the numbers and find out that the total weight you'll carry is under 8550 pounds, you could use the single rear wheel Sprinter 2500. A somewhat unusual alternative would be to use the 9,990 pound Sprinter 3500 with the "super single" single rear wheel option. (No...

The $351,000 asking price involves quite a multiplier. Your less pristine, and less celebrity-owned, U1300L is a good-deal more affordable . . . as in
And should you wish to consider getting one kind of like Ahnuld's, the Unimog Exchange

There have been dozens. They're everywhere. :sombrero:
Seriously, given how many times we'd had a date and something came up, I can't risk my already-dwindled reputation by giving another prediction. I suspect it will be when Red Cannon gets to the position that when someone sees my finished...
Thanks for understanding, Ken. The vehicle build could have gone a lot faster if it was going to be one-of-one. It's the business startup thrown in that takes time.
I couldn't say what it was worth, but I had both a 2000 and a 2005 and felt that the move to the 5-speed made it drive nicer in a variety of situations. Probably picked up an mpg or two as well.
It seems a totally reasonable price to me, too. And if Land Cruisers strike you as pricey--and they...
Turns out I'm the "expo member" whose words, photos and Picasa account are being appropriated to sell this.
It's a nice piece of cored fiberglass, not really reproducible at any practical price. It'll take some body work and a coat of paint (preferable not Unimog Ag Green) to make it...
