Ha! It’s out of my price range but seems reasonable for a nice 4x4 vehicle that you could build a whole tour business around, or make into a really nice RV. That is a real nice looking coach body. I sold my 7.3 ambulance and bought a V10 2WD chinook. For my needs, the V10 is great.

I'm always cynical about things like this, but maybe it's worth it to get some info & inspiration? Seems like you could also just go to some kind of overlanding meetup for free inspiration, or just surf youtube and forums for hours?

Yeah, spacious, pretty clean slate and low miles... me wants. Plus that exterior battery box or whatever that is? Kinda nice base for an RV over the usual airport van or shuttle. Looks like a nicer overall build.

So if you call an insurance company and give them the vin, and never say "ambulance", they still see it as such? My '97 ambo showed up as an E350. The vins can be funky with cutaway vans, as they're sold by, say, Ford, to an ambo/RV/whatever company and then they outfit/add to/resell it. My 2000...

Wow, I just scored a free 22” square Lewmar aluminum and smoked acrylic deck hatch off Craigslist! It’s from the 90s but in good shape. Just needs some new bedding tape and gaskets. Thanks for the inspiration!

Cool. Wasn't sure which cutout to go with. Looks like the whole top roof is 1.25" Divinycell foam, so easy to cut regardless. Did you shift the added opening forwards or backwards? Now that I've been looking at boat hatches I want to replace all the rv access hatches with boat hatches...

So this seems to be what you have, 19.75" square cutout, smoked acrylic hatch? ~315 cheapest I could find. Bomar 995: OD 22 1/16" x 22 1/16", cut out 19 3/4" x 19 3/4", flange 21 7/8" x 21 7/8". Includes trim ring and screen.
