Suspension lifts should not affect tire clearance and wheel travel unless poorly designed. With 32" tires, you should only need to trim. Limiting compression travel is not required. Trimming for 235/85 is not a big deal and is free.

Yes, 8000 lbs no problem. You just need to find a lower gear. Off road you can find slopes too steep for 1st low, but not on the road.

There should be sufficient engine braking. Slow down and use a lower gear. You should never, ever "need" to use brakes. Seriously. And, yes, I've been to Skagway and descend very long, very steep roads all of the time.

Actually I think the opposite. When you have not wheeled much you are naturally scared of angles. After you have done it a lot, you lose the fear and barely notice.

It is not a bad design. It is a 1960s design and a good one for the time. Obviously in 50 years some better designs have been made. All the people here comparing a modern engine to one of these has lost the plot.

Measure the sidewall height at road pressure. Air down until the sidewall until you are at 75% of the road height. That is the lowest you should go that is safe for the tire. As far as holding a bead, it depends on how aggressive you want to drive.
