    How to camp with dogs!

Easier than travelling with kids. We always have the dogs. Lots of long expeditions. Nothing really special to do. I normally custom modify a “seating” area for them.

Tent Bed Options for Sleeping Together

We’ve used a Big Agnes Dream Island system for the last five years. It has worked great.

    PLB (Personal locating beacon)

I’m involved with a lot of people that do serious backcountry activities and almost all of them have gone with the inreach. The ability to communicate your problem and needs to the responders has been shown to make a huge difference. The rescue group has a 100% chance of being properly outfitted...

Post your favorite classic cool rig that is now worth too much to enjoy?

So you complain about one group being judgemental by judging them? How about just letting people do what suits them and worry about your own life.

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

The problem is that it is flat bottom with that clearance everywhere. On a traditional truck, that low clearance was only in two small locations. The rest of the vehicle is much higher. If you were experienced off roading, this would all be obvious.

    Modern/“vintage” lighting options

H4s can’t be sealed. They will fill with water. I run housings that use 9007 bulbs on one truck. They are fully waterproof and look like normal headlights. They are nice and bright. Most of the LED headlamp options do not provide better light than a quality halogen and the beam patterns tend...

    Modern/“vintage” lighting options

The stock housings are not waterproof so you can’t make them that way with bulbs. Google will show you the options for complete replacements. I doubt any will make you happy though.

Any computer cord. It matters not. This is drawing less than half an amp.

    Round the world in 1957

It was only discovered and restored a few years ago. The discovery happened on the Roverlander’s forum and you can read about the restoration there.

    Defender Alternator Upgrade

Assuming this is a Defender style engine, the stock 65 amp is a straight fit. Britpart does a 120 amp that works well. Other options are limited due to the tight space constraints. If it a a Disco style you can fit a stock 100 amp unit.

    Rear Lockers

Ashcroft do not do a locker for these.

    Rear Lockers

Anything you can do will help off road. These things are heavy with poor wheel travel. They use the electronics to overcome the inherent bad off road design but it has its limits and can be beaten in the right situations. In those cases a locker really helps.

Diesel talk 200 tdi or 300 tdi?

It does not matter how heavy your foot is. The mileage is pretty steady. You get 25 UK mpg when driven really hard like steady 80 mph in the mountains. I’ve had a TDI for 15 years and monitor the mileage. 16 is not possible even in full off road driving in low range.

Diesel talk 200 tdi or 300 tdi?

Yes. You should be around 25 US mpg. 30 mpg if UK gallons. Something is seriously wrong if you are 16-17 mpg in the UK.

Diesel talk 200 tdi or 300 tdi?

They have the same power. One is not slower than the other. It is all about if they are setup properly or not.

Thoughts on Non-Land Rover axles on a Classic?

Keep in mind that KAM closed its doors last year. What was left of the company was bought by Terrafirma. I would be very careful with assuming anything supplied at this time is of the same quality as anything in the past.

    Are there no moderators here?

Maybe time to change to a half decent forum software then. I'm a mod on a few forums. Ban users and delete their posts is a couple of clicks in every one I use.

    Are there no moderators here?

Are you joking? It takes a minute to ban the posters. It is super simple. They must not have any moderators.
