    Jeep Wrangler 2008 Rubicon advice

I'm not saying that it's the right answer for any specific setup, but it'll give you hope that you can cope with pretty much any Wrangler weight . . . My XV-JP Wrangler has full bumpers and armor, an auxiliary fuel tank, stuff on the roof, and enough things inside the cabin to qualify it as a...

eBay listings: 2013 Majestic 4X4 and 2008 Earthroamer Jeep XVJP

I'll clue you in, guys--XV-JPs are going to be the Curtis Aerocars of the 2070s, and by then, $190K will seem dirt cheap. They've got rarity and, umm . . ., sleek lines and, ummm . . . rarity . . . yep, XV-JPs have all the important collecting attributes. :sombrero:

Calling LR3 and LR4 lowers, loyalists, cool aid drinkers and skeptics...

Is this one of the threads you found on Mud? http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/can-you-run-33-tires-on-lx570-20-wheels.823864/ Lots of discussion on Mud for something that seems like it should have a pretty straightforward answer.

Calling LR3 and LR4 lowers, loyalists, cool aid drinkers and skeptics...

I'm going through very similar decision making and after having many Toyota/Lexus products, all with superb reliability, I'd like to try something different, like a few-year-old Range Rover or Range Rover Sport. I am, however, afraid to change totally problem free ownership for what seems to be...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

It works. We had one on our first Sprinter: We used it mostly to stand on the rear bed and reach into the rear roof storage box and Sceptre cans, but it was plenty big to climb out of. FWIW, this particular hatch was made by Heki, and it is used in several serial production RVs. Like the...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

Seems a little harsh. A lot of people viewing this thread are here because they, too, are contemplating the purchase and build out of their own Sprinter, My suspicion is that Err doesn't mind much, as it is still early days in his own build and actively contributed to the discussions about the...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

They do seem a bit under-equipped, don't they? And as got pointed out, 2WD Sprinters are easy to get stuck. They have good ground clearance and are relatively sturdy, but tire size is limited and the diff is open, so there are pretty low limits when conditions turn sub-optimal. That said, and...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

The photo is a of a 158" wheelbase T1N (pre-'07, were it a US truck). Those were 21.5 feet overall, the largest Sprinter at the time. As in the current models, length went up faster than wheelbase: the 140" T1N was 18.5 feet, while the 158" was 21.5 feet, so you gained three feet of load floor...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

These are all fine discussions with excellent points. The one thing I would add is that your choice has got a lot to do with the mentality of the co-passenger, especially if female. Apologies for the sexism, but I've yet to find the exception where Female is willing to toilet in the aisle but...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

I'll add my two cents worth, as I have been wrestling with this issue for literally eight years, ever since the wheelbases/lengths changed for the 2007 model year. The lengths available are (nominally) 19.5 feet, 22.8 feet and 24.2 feet. At 22.8 feet, the "medium" NCV3 is roughly the same...

    1977 Mercedes Van 207d Diesel

They actually have a pretty low first gear which makes them not-hopeless off pavement, and with those tall flat walls, they're an easy truck to convert for living quarters. However, as with most all of the older Mercedes trucks, they're a lot happier where road travel is slower-paced than in the US.

    air conditioning question

A good point, for sure. It sounded to me, though, like the cab is bigger ("Just the front two seats") and there wasn't any information about if/how the rest of the space got blocked off. BTW, since a 5K BTU AC home window unit could be had for $100, and would probably have a secondary use if it...

    air conditioning question

I understand about the desire not to add an aftermarket AC. Makes a lot of sense if the top or back of your cab is suitable for mounting the evaporator. Sad to say, but the fact that a 5,000 BTU air conditioner will cool a bedroom is not really relevant. Freightliner had their ads make the...

    Cassette Toilet Question?

Glad to have been of help. I always wanted to be an expert in something, though perhaps I should have set my sights higher than plastic toilets. :)

    Cassette Toilet Question?

You can, with a bit of splicing things together. Indeed, filling the tank this way would be a good benefit that would make the extra cost and installation complexity of the cassette toilet, versus a Porti-Potti, well worth it. By the way, I didn't take the time to look up whether your model is...

CAMPERMOG FANS: Videos of the old girl in her weird new life

CoffeeMog (née CamperMog) is still selling coffee in Seattle. She gets a fair amount of coverage on Twitter (#mogsnotmugs; clever, eh?) and the Internet. If you are in Seattle, check at http://www.motofishcoffee.com to see where she is now and will be in the future. Anyway, I had someone e-mail...
