eBay: 1985 Mercedes Benz G Class Motorhome RV 4x4 G280

Ummm . . . I guess someone else can have it. That's better than $1K per light.

eBay: 1985 Mercedes Benz G Class Motorhome RV 4x4 G280

Do you recall an asking price being given in the Craigslist ad? This is admittedly a weird one, but there's much about the setup that would make it a comfortable truck to live out of for a long trip. Shame about the negligible power to weight ratio . . .

'06 Sprinter!! Nice find- and it hits the easy button square on!!

Feel no shame, my friend. That's how the system works. Just because you used to sleep on an Ensolite pad and cook over an itty-bitty stove, and could do it again if you have to, doesn't mean you have to. Look on the added luxury as a reward for past accomplishments. (Works for me, anyway...

    building the Bullet XV

Wait, there's an even better one than that . . . Battle of the lifting roofs, WABDR edition. One hydraulic, one pneumatic and one electric. (Though Yves inexplicably missed the memo about making his silver with vegetation-related graphics to scrape up on the trees. :sombrero: )

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Paid for 2/3 of the next night's camping, didn't it? :sombrero: I'd like to stress that the gas was intended to be free--Code of the West and all--but the grateful and insistent recipient managed to finesse the $20 bill into the truck. Sure hope that was the extra needed and that they're not...

Puzzles me, too. Owned by a former Mod?* * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mods_and_rockers if you missed that part of motorcycle history. And care.

    Air seat

I'm not familiar enough with the Fuso's bracketry to know whether this would work, but we have had, for a year or so, an aftermarket option to get a low profile air seat into a sprinter. Only 3" of vertical travel, but I've sat in them and they feel pretty good. Sprinters mount their front...

CO & Low-O2 Alarm for Camping?

I looked into the low oxygen measurement issue a while back and came to the same conclusion. FWIW, the ventilation requirements are pretty low . . . the rule of thumb is one square inch of ventilation per thousand BTUs of heater capacity. Easily dealt with in my experience, assuming you remember.

100 SERIES CARGO AREA CONVERSION--Has found a good new home

Just picked up by a nearby Hundy owner (ExPo white, no less) who was pleased to have it for the time he'll save. Thanks for your consideration.

    Stahl 1/2-ton Bed Slide for 8-Foot Bed--Sold 12/9/14

It'd be good if it did. I can see how it would be really useful as the first, easy-to-get-to, layer of storage. Figure that the top of the plywood, where you would put things, is about 6 inches off the mounting surface. Then add another 1.75 inches for the side rails. By the way, I don't know...

100 SERIES CARGO AREA CONVERSION--Has found a good new home

GONE TO A LOCAL LX470 OWNER, 11/1/14 Tom Petersen (RIP) used to say that in all of his late night television ads when he'd throw in some gimcrack if you'd pony up for one of his washers or vacuums . . . Free is a Very Good Price. What we have here will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone who...

    Stahl 1/2-ton Bed Slide for 8-Foot Bed--Sold 12/9/14

Thanks for your interest. The bed slide sold locally off through Craigslist to a contractor guy with a classic Ford longbed. I bought my Stahl Challenger TR service body trailer: with the $1,000 option of a 48" x 96" bed slide that extends much of the way out of the bed. Paul and I took the...

New 12 volt 3 gallon hot water heater!!!

The original 4-gallon Isotemp I had from EarthRoamer was solely heater exchange, and the replacement unit I had wanted to get had a heat exchanger. Sadly, I wasn't willing to wait several months more to get the unit I'd wanted, though I still have my heat exchanger plumbing in place. As I've...

New 12 volt 3 gallon hot water heater!!!

I sure would have liked a bigger selection of heaters to choose from, but the space available behind the passenger's seat was so small that even the 10 liter Nautic Junior is space-challenged. On the next camper I build, it'd be nice to make the space for the water heater ahead of time, at...

    Best toilet for frequent dumping?

Here's the under-seat Sprinter potti, the Thetford 320P: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006WPQMOA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Note the 14" height, so figure on either making up the sitting height with a riser or by exhibiting more flexibility than I care to. But 14" is about...

New 12 volt 3 gallon hot water heater!!!

Depends on the definition of hot. Fully up to temperature, it's hot enough to be mixed about 1:2 with cold to make normal temperature water. About 8 hours later, it's a good temperature to use straight. Twelve hours or so later, it's warm enough for washing up, but wouldn't cut grease...
