I don't think I would expect too much support from EC on a home built unit aside from chassis questions. They need to make money and it seems like the questions would be never ending on a DIY unit.
Well, I sent an inquiry to StoryTeller Overland through their website contact page asking about when they expected to start producing the Adventure Trucks at their new plant. No surprise, after several days, no response. I guess they are still so busy they don't need new customers.
That's a nice overview, if a bit shaded toward the AEONrv ( :<), but quite helpful. In some ways I like the fact that the Ford driver and passenger seats are part of the living area though on the Ekko. It kind of opens things up a bit and adds to the living area. I know there are plusses and...
From the press release:
While the custom Global X and GXV rigs will continue to be built in Springfield, MO; the higher volume, repeat build Adventure Truck units will be built by the Storyteller team in their newly expanded facilities in Birmingham, AL to meet the increasing demand for this...
Sounds like Mike and Rene are going to still be doing the big rigs and StoryTeller will do the Adventure Trucks. They might actually be able to produce them for sale at a lower price if they can streamline the operation. I think there might be a good market for the small AT around $250 or less...
I left them a question on Instagram or Facebook about whether they would be using the larger 6.6L gas engine also, but didn't get a response. It has a fair bit more HP and torque than the current 6.0. I suppose that they want to make sure that all their current Fuso stock is sold before...
Well, both GXV and EarthCruiser have said to look out for some changes in 2022. Teasers.
From Instagram:
globalxvehicles Thank you for another amazing year! GXV has some great things in store for 2022, so stay tuned. Until next year ???
From EC Instagram: Big things are in store in 2022...
Different vehicles for different people. No need to trash something if they like it and it works for them. I would rather have something like this that I could put my bikes inside and have a nice place to sleep, etc. Use the mountain bikes to explore the trails instead of bumping and bouncing...
Let's Go Aero BlackBox. Not cheap, but large. One advantage to outside storage is that if you are going on a trip (skiing?) and don't need the space, you can just leave it at home.
I agree with the bike storage problem, but there are solutions that can be mounted on the outside. I talked to https://www.alumline.com/products/boxes/aluminum-custom-boxes and they will make any size box you want. There is also https://letsgoaero.com/blackbox-pro-slideout-enclosed-carrier/ who...
So, there haven't been any posts on here for over 18 months. But if you look at their Facebook page, it looks like they are doing something. Anyone talked to them? Looks like they are doing vacuum infused glasswork, so maybe they know what they are doing...
I wonder if AEONrv had given any thought to using the E-350 long wheelbase SRW Cutaway model instead of the Transit. Either a Quigley 4x4 or UJoint 4x4 would be pretty nice under there. Maybe they were worried how long Ford will keep producing these.
