Selling Iglhaut Sprinter 4x4 German reg in US?

Hard to disagree with a guy with the forum name of Mr. Know-It-All, but I suggest you double check this information carefully. Also, should anyone want an overview of importing a vehicle into the U.S., the summary writeup of CBP's requirements is here...

    RTT....its days may numbered

Sorry that I missed this question for a few days . . . My Columbus is pretty good in heavy rain. It really helps that, unlike a normal tent, most of the rain isn't falling on the fabric. The big slanted fiberglass roof is catching the biggest part of it, and the vertical sides are tight enough...

Selling Iglhaut Sprinter 4x4 German reg in US?

Hi, Rene, Many North American's would enjoy having such a van, but as stated above, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol would never allow it to stay in the country. It is a simple matter of the Vehicle Identification Number to tell the North American trucks from the rest of the world's Sprinters...

2005 118" Sprinter Conversion for Alexander

Geez, attitudes in a Sprinter thread . . . what's the world coming to. ;) I wouldn't take it too seriously, Alex. I went back and skimmed through Southpier's last 500 posts. While most aren't real informative, and his average post is about a sentence and a half, he did seem to be more civil a...

    RTT....its days may numbered

What he said. I had an Eezi-Awn and now have an Autohome Columbus. The Eezi-Awn was workable, not too much trouble, and better than a ground tent. The Columbus, though, is a different concept. Literally fifty times faster to deploy, twenty times faster to pack up, and dealing with a wet tent is...

2005 118" Sprinter Conversion for Alexander

Thanks, Paul. I put well-rated 4" Eclipse speakers into my '05, and I also put nice Boston Acoustic 6.5 inch two-ways about where you put Alex's. The sound was clearly an improvement, but it wasn't good enough that I plan on doing anything similar to my '03. (Unless you tell me your stuff works...

FG140 Crew Cab -- sort of

The first FG camper I ever saw, handbuilt by a guy in Sandy, Oregon, had a seating compartment behind the cab. The compartment seats also folded down into a berth. You could pass through both the cabin into the compartment and from the compartment into the giant cabin he also built. It...

    Seasucker vacuum storage

I bought one (4" threaded) when they first came out and keep it stored by being suctioned to the side of my tool chest. About once a month I give the button a quick squeeze. That's it. I'd recommend them if you have a good surface to attach them to.

    12V DC-DC Chargers

I have the C-Tek 7002, and can't imagine how it could work any better. Does what it needs to do and seems incapable of screwing things up. There are 111 Amazon reviews if you want to learn all there is to know about it.

**SOLD** 2004 Ford E-350 Ambo Expedition Camper -MegAmbo For Sale !! $60,000

Sorry to see it moving on. It's an impressive rig, and certainly seems fairly priced given what's gone into it. Be tough to beat for someone wanting a turnkey rig to go anywhere in North America in comfort. Best of luck with the sale.

2005 118" Sprinter Conversion for Alexander

I do great on the floor, too; just spent 9 days on the MegaMat down by the back doors and it was good as home. But are you telling me you and Lady Pamela BOTH sleep between the wheel wells? :Wow1: I mean, there's a reason you're Big Paul, and superfit surfer or not, there's a size issue here ...

2005 118" Sprinter Conversion for Alexander

Nobody's having any problem with your build, Alex. It's smart to have all of that open space, and if you're surfing or cycling or hauling a moto, that's what you need to do. But some of us are older (or just plain old) and were messin' with Paul and his comment about the "49 inches is plenty for...
