terrific format! Really a joy to read. Also - That bridge into Northport reminds me - in the lighting and weather and angle of view - of the bridge from First Blood, where John was initially hassled.
I don't know you at all, but I love your heart for your pups. Again and again i read your travels and get misty-eyed. I have two pups, too - and I guess your journey reminds me to remember to enjoy them more than maybe I do. Thank you.
Very neat. Thanks for sharing this! I cut my off-road teeth on IH Scouts AND Late 80s Rangers (brother had an 89 STX he eventually totalled, then had a 90 if i recall)
I just see things, brother. :-) Then I say things. ha! :)
Cool. Really liked your trip report, btw. I'm stuck in europe where there isn't much in the way of 'overlanding'. Road trips are the best I can hope for - so i appreciate getting to live vicariously through well-written and...
last thing - Do you have traction boards? Have you used them? I love 'em. The way you take photos - I used to do this and made for neat results...remember those little ladders that folded into thirds or fourths, but when locked-out straight was like 10feet? It had hinges and what-not? I...
By the way? If Tim McGraw and Michael Keaton had a baby, the baby would look like you.
Great story-telling - and i'm glad you told the story with video to augment the photos and writing - I think the photos and writing are probably the best - but adding a little video is a nice addition.
best part is, by the time i get back to the states I'll be pretty close to 50. The other aspect I was too skeerd to mention: Its nice thinking at 50 years old life still is going on. :D
Here's a vote for letting the driver decide when to have things happen. Auto-dimming mirrors (which have never worked as well as simply flipping a little tab on the mirror), auto headlights, auto wipers, auto locks, auto-everything. Instead of not-having-to-think about it, youd likely become...
What a great trip! When I see things like this report i wonder why i would ever be worried about IFS and off-roading. Looks great. Need more dog pics though :D
I think it was your DRAM posts that kinda kept me afloat in terms of not forgetting my dream of adventure while I was stuck in a cubicle. Thank you SG.
