Thank you - I don't know what was on the F150 - we bought it that way in 2006. No GWagens or anything for me - am putting around in my 99 320i for now. We'll see what happens when I return to the US.
Thank you!! Yeah, I liked the truck, but I grew tired of having almost no aftermarket...
ARB 33000lbs Snatch-strap. It's $100; but I'd bet my life on it working right, every time.

It's built to stretch vs the standard yellow tow straps which are typically made of polyester with little stretch...
That's a good plan; with welding brackets can be made that'd make just about any bumper fit! and thank you!
Yup. I read the reviews AFTER my purchase. Doh. Having said that, my experience went well.
I dunno if it's "love" - but she's 'good people' - just not good with me. I reccommend people date her.
Plus...our daughter is getting to be driving age - said Mom's truck was a little feminine with the other tires (stock-size). :-)
Spence - I tell ya...you are an inspiration and I am a lot jealous but mostly very happy to read about your adventures; Great group you had with you, it seems; Get on over to Michigan and maybe I'd follow along for a bit! :)
Thank you! The bumper seems fine. Although I wouldn't waste money on having them coat/paint it; just falls off with the slightest touch. A couple good cans of undercoating and i'm set.
Updated pics in first post.
Don't forget tire weight when looking at tire size, especially within the scope of overlanding. Unsprung mass, and where the mass is with tires (around the edges, farthest from the center of the axle), can affect handling, fuel economy and accelleration .
great photos/vids, and story. I'm most-surprised the new Jeeps seemed to do as well as they did; since the launch I've had my doubts about their off-road worthiness.
