Relative to feeling secure or otherwise, somewhere in this thread is my reply relative to perceived risk or threat. That needn't be couched as fear or insecurity. In many cases it is just an experienced response to a given situation. I assess the risk of injury on my motorcycle as great enough...
This argument seldom survives scrutiny. Although gun ownership is ostensibly protected by the Constitution, gun ownership already carries limitations. Regulations already exist. We're simply talking about better, more effective regulations, and understanding criminals don't abide by them. But...
There are a number of issues at play here. As you point out, there is a legal position, but there are also social and moral mores. Just speaking to the social element, some people are a little presumptuous that their right to carry trumps all. Only a few times in the last several years has...
I do in many circumstances. If I'm in a group camping scenario and I don't know the skill level of people who have firearms, I'd rather they not bring them along. Same for the individuals I see walking the street. With law enforcement, at least I know they have had training. With Joe Blow...
I'm another fan. I've sent hundreds of messages from six countries on four continents in the last year and a half alone. Plus scads of messages in the US. Never a missed signal or message. Pretty amazing where I've used it. From the Amazon Basin to Everest base camp. The little sucker works.
The challenge is relative to the size of the panel and the constant need to direct it at the sun at the most optimal angle. It's not enough to just plop a panel "in the sun." It has to ideally be aimed right at the sun to get more than meager power generation. Most panels will lose up to 20% of...
Scott, the entire time I was in Nepal I worked from my Samsung Edge 6+ with a folding Anker keyboard. I used a WD wireless hard drive to back up images and also view them on the plus size phone, with resolution that smokes the iPhone. Long story short, it's a baby step towards my next purchase...
It's really just about dew point and ventilation. You're just not moving enough air throughout the tent. It's really about tent design more than anything.
I don't know if any of you happened to read my Magnum Opus on the best sporks available: http://expeditionportal.com/expo-tested-who-makes-the-best-spork/
It started out as a joke of sorts, but got serious quickly. Ultimately, people like to kid about the titanium spork being some luxurious...
Hults Bruk.
They've been making axes in the same village in Sweden for - 319 years. I have two of them. They are amazing. Just owning something with that much legacy is really cool. Last axes I'll ever own.

I do use the pop up viewfinder and it does seem sufficiently durable. It does make the shooting efficiency way better for most shots. The pop up flash...looks wimpy, but I don't use it. Ever.
I didn't take the shot above with the Sony. That was shot with a Fuji XT1 at 140mm (200mm equivalent)...
I like Big Agnes for what it is, and they do make fine products, but they sure get a lucky break with their reputation relative to the products they make.
