Feasibility of converting MB1017A from 2WD to 4WD in N. America?

Money spent getting the chassis you want is well worth it. Modifying the vehicle is very expensive and in North America almost every part you will need will be shipped from Europe. I would wait for a 917/1017 etc. 4x4. Getting a chassis that is already in North America is a huge bonus but not...

    Hydronic floor tubing?

Oxygen barrier protects coolant and helps prevent corrosion in ferrous metals in closed system. Using an open system, using drinking water in the heating loop adds a risk of bacterial contamination.

    Hydronic floor tubing?

Too much flex. Insulate the box under the hatch and run a heating loop through that.

    Hydronic floor tubing?

Our tubing is orange PEX inside ( the one with an Oxygen barrier) and 3/4" rad hose under the truck. I think having a joint flex enough to open a hatch is too much.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

You look to be very short on interior storage. All I see is the tall cabinet for clothes, where is your food going? refrigerator? Do you have a spot for shoes? You will need a sliding dinette table if you want to get in or out from the kitchen side.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Think about how you will live with this truck. Parked at a great site with the stairs set up will be great. Sadly much of the time you will be traveling or staying at less than perfect locations. When traveling you will have to stow the stairs before you drive off. Lunch time stairs out, stairs...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Absolutely everything in design is compromise and everyone has their preferences. I see huge inconvenience with those stairs combined with no (or poor) cab to cabin access. Now is the time to be sure.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

I have a strong dislike of "freestanding" stairs. They stick out way too far. They are inconvenient to deploy. They require level ground to rest on. They cannot be used when parked next to a sidewalk without blocking a lot of space, and more... An entry that has two steps inside the footprint of...

Neither, but if your heart is set on that placement face them to the rear, if you drive off with them down they might survive.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Sorry Neil , our experience is the opposite, with permanent flat mounted panels we almost always get to full charge even in high latitudes. Our alarm for not reaching full charge in a 5 day period has been activated only a couple of times in the last 7 years. Our system has never stopped...

    TATRA 6x6 or 8x8

Bad idea unless: you plan to spend all your time in the American west or the Russian steppe, don't plan to drive through a small town ever, don't plan to explore remote areas that have wooden bridges.

    How to manage photo libraries?

Sorry the "/" was misleading. "-" is more appropriate In the Pictures folder of Windows create "Year" folder names. 2021 etc. In each "year" create 12 months. 2021-07 2021-08 2021-09 etc...

    How to manage photo libraries?

The simplest naming system is date. Put it first and be consistent, you can add more information to the name afterwards if you want or better yet put the information into the metadata when you edit in Lightroom.
