Fuel pickup for a D2 heater... How to?

My 2002 E350 didn't have an aux pickup so I did the same thing as the previous post. Drilled a hole through that stainless steel flange with a drill press and fitted the webasto pickup tube kit.

Mounting 3rd battery to frame rail

Just wanted to add a note. I used that same battery box on my frame rail for a house battery on my old van. Installation looked clean. A snafu that I ran into was that the box doesn't fit any normal size cheap deep cycle lead acid battery. The only deep cycle in the group size that fit the box...

Just bought a 2005 GMC Savana AWD - Need some help

Bummer! I think that is really common GM transmission and readily available from parts yards or an off the shelf rebuilt unit. Probably the best the dealer can do is swap in a used transmission if they have their own mechanic and shop. That would be a pretty fair deal since it's a 10 year old...

Just bought a 2005 GMC Savana AWD - Need some help

Regarding exhaust blockage. I had a cat go bad once on an mazda truck. A chunk broke loose and clogged it up and then blew out and another chunk eventually get stuck and blew out before I replaced it.

Just bought a 2005 GMC Savana AWD - Need some help

I don't know much about transmissions but I heard they don't work right if over filled. If no drain plug, stick a small hose down the fill tube and suck some fluid out. On the HVAC controls, there is a bundle of vacuum hoses that mate via a molded plastic clip up under the dash on the passenger...

Lite weight campers & RVs. Consumers/customers need to push manufacturers....

Some ponderings on the topic. It seems like the big rv market demographic is older folks. Retired or semi retired, house paid off or have big nut with enough to chip off and splurge on a rig. They worked hard and are ready to get out before they die. They want luxury and aren't interested in...

    Johny5's stealth camper van

The heater looks almost identical to the Webasto that I had. The Webasto had a loud click from the fuel pump and the circulation fan would never fully stop when the unit was on. Have you noticed either of those things with the Russian heater?

Anybody do their own 4X4 van conversion????

If building suspension systems is someone's passion and hobby that's great, it can be a lot fun. From my observations over the years wheeling, a lot of people can source parts from scratch, stick an axle under the front of a vehicle and make the front tires turn. Less people can do it safely...

Did Quigley also use that system to so they could fit a smaller diameter coil spring in there?

Quigley with Airbags in the Frontsprings

Can you post a picture? I'd like to see the arrangement for curiosity sake. I'm sure there's folks on here though that are already familiar with your setup.

    Soften up my ride

Would help to see a couple photos of the shackle from other angles. I cant tell if the springs are bolted to the front or back of the shackle. It looks like if bolted to the front of the shackle, the springs are too short and shackle angle is restricting movement. If bolted in the back hole then...
