Hi, Don, and welcome to ExPo. Glad to have you.
The easiest way to contact the seller, amphibpilot, is to click on this name in one of the posts above. It's in blue and underlined. When you click on that, one of the options that will come up is "Send Private Message." Then click on that and...
I wouldn't give up too quickly. The Buddy heater is not that expensive and it doesn't take up (comparatively) that much space, and having it around might be of great value in nasty situations. There's certainly nothing that requires it be used when it doesn't seem helpful enough to warrant the...
Thank you for the compliments, gentlemen. It was good of you to make time to come by and check out the truck.
After all of my mucking around in the early years of this project, it's very gratifying when knowledgeable and experienced people like how it turned out.
Well, I did (unsuccessfully) try to buy my Sprinter back from Joe and Janet a couple months ago.
Read into that what you might. But after all, as Ranger Doug was fond of saying, "Great. We know it works." :sombrero:
Thanks for the compliments. We appreciate them.
For anyone who wants to see the full set of Paul's test drive pictures in an ExPo thread, he posted them up here:

Now, with appropriate money, you can get a working 4x4 system installed by either Upscale Automotive (aka The Sprinter Store)

As you plan things out . . .
I just got an e-mail from the couple who bought my Sprinter last spring. Both of them are now retired and they just got back to Oregon from a month spent back country camping in Death Valley.
A month in the fifty or so square feet of cabin space seems like quite...
Good heavens, that's a big one. 36 feet long, if my math is right. Might be a handful on the really tight trails. :)
Thanks for posting the link. I love seeing these kind of things.
Thanks so much for introducing yourself, Berthil, and for providing pictures of your new truck. Best of luck with your restoration.
If you have time to keep us informed as work progresses, they'll be many of us who are interested.
I don't know whether you've already seen it or not, but there's...
I always aspired to one day own an awning people would travel from all over the world to see. :sombrero:
Anytime you're headed near OR 217 and Walker Road, let me know and we'll arrange a demo. Choose a calm day.
Wow, the thread from the dead.
Chris, I haven't seen Tom in a long time and he hasn't checked in here lately, but I don't believe that his rear diff lock happened. If anyone knows better, please correct me.
For anyone stumbling on this thread and wondering what's happened in the past three...
I agree. My Sprinter was done this way (following the recommendations in John Speed's Travel Vans book, and it was the key to having livable space for two in a 10x5 cabin. A dedicated shower/toilet area you use maybe 5% of the time is a pretty big tradeoff in a small cabin.
That's a very nice build that everyone should check out, but you gotta love the ADVRider inmates' ability to turn it into a 166-page thread that makes it a slog to see the important parts.
The thing done on this build that's significantly different from common practice and worth learning about...
Thanks for taking going to the effort to share the writeup and the photos. That's a really fine truck with some really skillful mods, and I appreciate you sharing.
