Inverse: I hate OEMs that hide features behind a paywall when they're already available. This isn't the first time JLR includes physical hardware but hides it behind additional costs. $40 from eBay for switches and my D2 now has the heated seats that Solihull wanted to rip me off for lol

You say that "but" as if the achievement of 500k miles isn't impressive by itself lol

    Old Man Emu Shocks

Yes, OME is good stuff. Can't tell you about their compatibility with the original airbags, but I've got the Terrafirma HD kit on my D2 and I WISH I had gone with OME instead. There's a notable difference. OME isn't going to be superior to the Fox shocks that LK8 sells, but it's quality stuff...

    SYA Kit Limiting Straps Binding

It's a crapshoot. They were $4000+ for the HD Cv's. I spoke to someone with a RRS on 35" who bought them and it took months just to get them. When they arrived, LK8 was unhappy with the quality and stopped offering them. Seems like we need to wait a little longer...

Onboard Spare parts when off-roading/overlanding with an LR4 / Discovery 4

DSCOFEVER had this failure on his LR4 - documented it on IG.

2020 Defender 110 Eiger Grey overland build

Keep it up! Love to see what you've got to say about this new platform. Other than the blowout, any issues? Finally...as someone who owns multiple LR from multiple generations, how does this stack up for your intended use?

Onboard Spare parts when off-roading/overlanding with an LR4 / Discovery 4

Depending on tire size, CVs become consumables real quick. A spare axle isn't the worst idea. I've broken 1 myself and the previous owner had replaced 3. My T-Case was the last thing to break on 35" out on the trail. Stripped some teeth and started skipping/jumping teeth pretty badly after a...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

I know it's not much, but here's my latest Rover: 2004 D2 with approximately 105k miles. Started off as a non-runner that was destined for the scrap yard. While OK, my aunt and uncle got fed up with maintaining it and were basically letting it rot away in their driveway. With the help of some...

Agreed. However, they'd never recoup the R&D costs. This is the only Defender with the AJ engine, unlike prior RR/RRS options that were designed with that V6/V8 option in mind. Personally, I'm super bummed about it too. I'd happily pay just for the motor as well.

Respectfully, I disagree. This isn't a Bowler Wildcat. It's some Sandglow paint (they use a new name now) on a Works V8 with some Safety Devices accessories. Hell, the front end sag on this thing with the 5.0 is pretty obvious - doesn't look as if they compensated for the extra weight. It's a...

    85,000 Mile LR3?

Flattered, thank you for the compliment. Just have some experience around these rigs, that's all. One more thing that I forgot to mention..... PARKING BRAKE! Make sure it's operational before you buy. If it seizes during your test or gives you issues, account accordingly because it's also a PITA...

    85,000 Mile LR3?

I'd say that the majority of individuals on this forum will agree that the LR3 is one of, if not the most reliable Land Rover built in recent history. There are a significant number of members here who have 250k+ miles on their trucks without major issues. Keep a $5,000 safety net to address...

That makes two of us. It's the perfect powertrain for this style of vehicle. Superior torque and gas mileage than the current P300 offering. Furthermore, you can put 18"s on it.

I'd argue that I'm EXACTLY who Land Rover is targeting. You're misinformed if you don't think I'm the core demographic. This isn't a matter of "I may get one..." as you state. I'm also far from the dinosaurs you see on this forum who insist a proper Land Rover has to be coil sprung and on an...

    New Defender News

Awesome. So what have we learned? Land Rover continues to make the same dumb mistakes every single time they produce a vehicle. Why does a new vehicle with delivery miles need a compressor replaced? I remember working at JLR Main Line in Philly during college (Circa 2014) when the L405's were...

2020 Defender in particular seems to have suffered from quite a few teething flaws. Some of these things are expected/acceptable (Loose window trim, constant OTA updates, temperamental infotainment, etc...) whereas some of these issues are downright unacceptable (air suspension faults - I mean...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

I sold the LR3 back in September and felt naked without a Land Rover. Fortunately for me, my aunt has had this D2 in the family since 2012 and it sat neglected until November of this year when it was decided that I would adopt the old girl and give it a second chance at life. It's been an...

As someone who is currently in the middle of restoring his Discovery 2, I just want to be very clear for the record: If you're the sort of person that complains that the new Defender has too much plastic, I IMPLORE you to go mess with a D2 and tell me the Defender is bad. There isn't a single...
