But I use K cups!
Interesting concept. I always like messing with 2m antennas as they tend to be fairly forgiving in design and not very expensive to make.
Ok, fixed this monstrosity. I rummaged around my shed and found a 1/8 inch sheet of aluminum. With a jig saw, file and drill press, I managed to make a mount that slips between the hood and fender. Well....1.2:1 !! Thanks y'all!
Without having to reply to everyone:
Y'all are right, this is a terrible location. I was attempting to use the big bumper as the ground plane as it worked well for the CB antenna. Between the front grill (and the raidator directly behind it), there is a massive effect on the antenna. Imma see...
Was not really liking my previous antenna location for either antenna. Ground plane was terrible.
Got out my multimeter and grinder. Figured out that the front bumper did indeed show continuity to the frame.
Mounted the CB whip on the passenger side of the bumper. <1.5:1 SWR. Not even going...
Hey everyone!
Let me spam you a quick minute, lol.
Just wanted to toss this out there if any of you are interested in also having paper maps as a backup. This was something that I was going to do a few years ago with my original mapping business, but held off on. Since reopening and rebranding...
Axles And Antennas – Overland & On Air is now live at axlesandantennas.com
Now that I have your attention, I really don't want to go full blow Press Release on this announcement.
As I state on the home page:

Outside of some published arrl testing, my first hand experience with many lesser quality radios have been less than impressive. During conversations with fellow amateur radio operators, the transmit and receive has been substandard.
I’m not going to dig around the internet and provide you...
Thank you for posting this MidlandUSA!
Glad the FCC is making changes to the FRS/GMRS rules. 2 watts on FRS will be plenty without having the confusion of the GMRS channels being used without a license. I've always found the whole thing to be unnecessarily confusing.
Plus, a up to 50 watt GMRS...

The strange thing is that academy lists them...
I’ve had this Coleman 533 for years! When I bought it, I wanted something that would burn multiple type of fuel. So camp file and gas it is. Paid about 50 for it new I think. It’s small. Does not leak. Not very heavy and really sips fuel. Way better than propane in my opinion.
Here are a few more pics. Just need to redo the old wiring, paint a few spots, and attach the side reflectors. This is going to be a do-it-all trailer. Rocks, mulch, camping, looking cool, etc.
