Rear mounted spare tire Antenna/Jerry can mount

I’ll have to edit this later as I’m on my phone and formatting is a little weird. Here is my home brew quasi military rear tire Antenna and Jerry Can mount. I bought the antenna mount from a mil surp store. I believe it’s for a humvee but I guess it does not matter. The two Jerry cans are...

Realized that I posted an older pic of the J8 inspired front bumper that I had not installed the factory fog lamps yet. Also a better pic of the Jerry can/ Antenna mount.

New M416A1 have a break system question

I assume i can remove the hydro lines and such for the surge brake without effecting the function of the drum brakes? If so, that would be really nice. Although out of habit I would still use rubber chalks.

New M416A1 have a break system question

It’s definitely an A1. I downloaded the TM for it and it’s stock like that. This weekend I’ll crawl around it and see just how involved this set up is. I got a feeling I’m just going to remove the brake parts and let it free wheel should lose a few pounds anyway. Thanks for the feed back guys.

New M416A1 have a break system question

Ahh ok. That makes sense now. Here’s another question then: is the brake system necessary? I have owned a couple of standard trailers and never had any road drama with them. I get why the military would design a system like this but it does sound fiddly. Is it possible to remove that whole...

New M416A1 have a break system question

Hey y’all. Picked up a really good condition M416 yesterday. Some rust scale but no flakes or holes. Super solid. So I have a question about the way the breaks operate. Parking break is a no brainer but the hydrolic system is confusing me. There is a small chain that is supposed to hit the...

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

Went through the same thing but with a 1973 BMW 2002. Got it for a good deal and put a lot of time and money into it. Except for about a week I drove it about every other day. But I was always working on it. After a while I felt like it owned me or at least monopolized my time. It was the last...

    Full JL Specs released

Even though I just bought a 18 JKU I'm really digging the JL. The lines look good. The interior is nice too except for that horizontal dash piece that stretches across. To be fair, I've only seen the red one. Maybe black would look better. In a few years when th bugs get worked out, I think...

‘18 JKU build in East Tennessee

Finally got the rear deck finished up. Went with 3/4 inch board I had in my storage shed. Was originally going to go full length but decided that a 60% length like the seats gave better options. The hole left by the jump seat allows for a deep pocket for my daily backpack and action packer. I...

‘18 JKU build in East Tennessee

Hi all. Obviously new here. This past August I ordered a 2018 JKU Sahara in Gobi (hence double-desert). Took possession in early October. About 3500 miles thus far. I have been absolutely impress with it and very happy with the choice. Actually, wife got jelly and ordered one as well but it's a...
