lol. A "global" vehicle that globally lacks even the most basic of support, such as tire availability or shops that can work on the thing. Life with a luxury Defender will be comfy, if you live near a dealership.

You want a Range Rover. Go buy one.

One less reason to buy a Defender. Now you can buy basically the same category of domesticated soft-roader but from a far larger dealer network, better reliability record, better engines, and less ugly design.

I see in the brochure "18" STYLE 5094, 5 SPOKE, SATIN DARK GREY ". Strange it does not show in the configurator.

For the Defender market, which doesn't demand it, you don't. The ride quality of a P38, a huge improvement, would be beyond acceptable without over-complicating what should be a relatively simple vehicle.

They only needed to strive for one inch to reach 17" wheels, which open up a plethora of tire options. Although, 16" would offer more global supply compatibility.

It should have read, "non-US homologated comments", preempting some dipshit from saying "but but but it's not available in US.."

The same investment that Jeep, Mercedes (G-wagen), Porsche (911), Toyota (70, spare me the irrelevant non-US comments), and others with gracefully evolved models have done. Invest money to keep them the same, yet different at the same time. These are halo cars of their markets, which sell all...

All this Baja/Rally talk is silly here. I'm confident there has never been a Defender owner who purchased one to go fast, on or off road.

I never met a Defender owner who worried about that. They usually only want better insulation, heating, cooling, sealing, component quality, a few airbags, and don't change anything else. It's like worrying about suspension travel on a Honda Civic.

That's a newer thread. Most people on that forum hate the luxury Defender with a passion. The original thread got so bad they moved it to the mud pit. It was an epic long ********-show.

I95 at a steady 80 mph cruise? Every modern solid axle vehicle does this. A solid axle 2004 D2 does it. A modern solid axle Defender would be no different.

    New Defender News

That doesn't make it the "first off-roading drive". There are dozens of vehicles that can imitate Ken Block. It's nothing unique or needed in a Defender. There are also dozen other vehicles that would be belly-up too, and they should be. It's as ridiculous as Ford trying to turn the Mustang into...

Why didn't any of you guys tell them to take their geriatric Toyota Lorrie-Cruiser back to the solid-axle retirement home before they get hurt? Traveling the world? The audacity!

Inboard brakes and regenerative brakes are other options. They could have figured it out, but LR is more intent on regurgitating Range Rover designs.
