I'd like to learn about all the places solid axles can't go. Where is the supremely-capable Playskool Defender going that previous vehicles haven't?

See screenshot below: See how there are two replies in my original post? I think I know where the disconnect occurred. The first reply's video was of an uneven dirt trail. That's what I was looking for. Most trails are not flat or we wouldn't need 4wd. That's the video I insisted repeatedly...

Quote me where I lied. You're very confused.

Bash rock crawling all you want. It's not my cup of tea either. However, the first video is not rock crawling. The second is, obviously, but I never claimed it wasn't. It was in response to a completely different topic (technology). Quote me.

That wasn't even close to rock crawling. It was dirt. Dirt normally has some rocks in it. They weren't even big enough to crawl over. This is rock crawling:

I didn't say the pic was from the video. I was just busting your balls. A jab at your sense of what constitutes "off-road". I said the first video was dirt with a few rocks. The second video was in response to your needing technology comment.

It's dirt with a few rocks sticking out. Now I'm beginning to understand why you think new cars are so amazing "off-road". Off-road! Thank goodness for traction control.

There's nothing wrong with fwd or unibody construction in that application. It's a tool in that it does a few things very well, inexpensively, and without luxury **************** dragging it down.

You think that's rock crawling? It's an uneven dirt road. Very common. Not even close to extreme.

You might want to lookup a RAM 3500.

Yes, most any vehicle can drive down a dirt road. How are you going to get today's softroaders down a real trail? Hmm..

What do you get if you want "utilitarian" and "capability", but not a crappy Chrysler toy?

Sure, let's set aside character and appearance, even though many people prefer to enjoy their vehicle too. The luxury Defender is not a tool, unless your Makita comes in an Urban pack. Visit a few construction sites. The people buying "tool" vehicles are buying trucks, utility vans, Jeeps, and...

lol, customize with what? I'd be amazed if your average luxury Defender buyer will have ever touched half the tools here

I'm not going to entertain your manufactured outrage. The fundamental reason I don't like the luxury Defender and Discovery is because they have nearly nothing in common with their predecessors or the Land Rover brand. Other brands have figured out how to evolve their products without throwing...

That's what happens when their out-of-touch dandy designs both ends of a product line that are supposed to be polar opposites. They should just kill the Land Rover brand at this point. They're all Range Rovers anyway.
