Thanks.
Yes, weird how both batteries start out at 14v when I fire it up at first, then it backs down to 13.4+ at both city/freeway speeds.
Both batteries however can be off a few from each other.
However I have experimented by flipping the toggle for the Painless dual battery kit to emergency...
Yes, I would have to monitor the voltages sometimes with the Fluke to make sure the adjustment has not gone haywire.
I am not sure what type of battery the stock Toyota one is.
But yes, this seems to be very nice, and a member from this thread told me about it earlier.
Pretty much plug and...
Ahhhh, I see then, very bad plate in the battery, so it is going out.
Now what about this item for a Toyota?
Easier than doing the diode???

Thanks.
Thanks, and I know the charging system is working fine since it was just tested at the dealership a short time ago.
If the new Optima I am getting tomorrow were to crap out on me, I can flip a switch in the cab with my Painless Wiring dual battery kit and the main battery would take...
Thanks!
I believe I also know why the Optima is down in voltage besides being old.
I subscribe to a YouTube channel from Australia that sells products under the name "Kick @ss Products."
They sell solar, fridges, and dual battery stuff.
However most of their dual batteries are like the ArkPak...
OK, started up the rig and both voltages inside the cab read 14v to start out with, and on the way home the voltage settled down to 13.9, then on the freeway around 13.6.
This is the way it normally behaves, and when I turn the rig off the batteries read around 12.4.
The rig always starts up...
The Optimas are AGMs, but my fridge was running too once I started up the rig.
The safety had kicked in on the fridge and it cycled off since the Optima was below a good charge, and the fridge had gone from 35 degrees up to around 46 degrees or more.
So driving into work the alternator was...
Well, even though I have the Basecamp Aquacube made by Mr. Heater, and it has been nice using it and doing the dishes (it has a sink faucet too) I had delivered a Big Kahuna Shower 4.7 gallon model Sunday.
The Aquacube is nice, but many have had problems with it (made in China) so I want...
Ducky, here is a pic of the box.
I think only the Optimas can fit it.
Several years ago when the Yellowtop took a dump, Sears was going to put in an Odyssey, but it would not fit.
Thanks John, under the hood of FJs it is very tight and not much room.
Barely had room for the present mount, so I am pretty stuck with it as it was designed for the FJs.
Will probably go with the Yellowtop, but I wonder if they make a bigger capacity with the same dimensions.
I also ran my old...
This has been a great battery since 2010 when it was put in as a second battery in my FJ.
It ran the new National Luna fridge I got last September just fine too.
Yesterday I packed up some vittles in the fridge and ran it during the day and it got down to cooling temps.
Overnight though when I...
Already been out a month of so back.
We went out just for the day though marking waypoints on my NVIDIA Shield Android tablet for some future campsites we want to try during vacation which is not too far off.
I agree.
Hey Gadjet, was your rig a few years back parked alongside the road that parallels the Tukwila freeway by the Duwamish river?
I was coming back to my main jobsite from the Duwamish towers and there was a Pinzgauer parked off on the shoulder.
Adventure Tool Company Atlas Map Case 7-1-2017
I needed a nice case to keep my atlas in to protect it, and I remember seeing a nice one on Adventure Tool Companies website, so I ordered one, and it showed up this past Thursday.
As with anything from Adventure Tool Company, this Atlas Map Case...
