    Diesel power

The diesel Webasto unit, as used in the Kimberley vans, works great for hot water and space heating; and it is very miserly on fuel use. I'm still not sold on the Webasto diesel ceramic cook top.

    Europa G320 at Mastadon...thoughts?

It has to have been Federalized, if Europa Int'l sold it.

    Driving characteristics?

The vehicle bears very little resemblance to the G's that are available and sold in the US; so there's no real comparison possible. Also, he really ought to learn how to correctly pronounce Geländewagen.

    Driving characteristics?

You just need to drive one to see what it's like on the road. I've driven both of my G's (1984 280GE and 2000 G500) from Atlanta to AZ, CO & UT and back many times. They are not cars, but are A-OK for long highway trips as far as I'm concerned. Just be prepared for a second mortgage to pay...

    Driving characteristics?

The G is NOT a car. It is a truck that drives like a truck and is very capable off road. I live in Atlanta, am NOT a rapper and have been driving a G since 1984.

    Birth of My Kimberley Karavan

Yes. That issue and another have been remedied. I am still contemplating selling it. Now that everything is working as it should and better than it came from the factory, I can sell it with a clear conscience.

    2007 G500

It was a LWB. Purchased new in Stuttgart in 1984. The owner in Bend was/is the 5th owner.

Is my old dark blue metallic 280GE (now diesel) still in Bend?

    Bruder Expedition Campers

They need to shop their shipping costs better. My Kimberley Karavan (similar size and weight) was shipped Brisbane to Los Angeles in its own container in March 2013 for US$420.00.

Have they even sold any in Australia? Their website hasn't added anything in many months.

G550 4x4^2 arrived at the dealer recently

They're not listed in the Daimler online EPC that I use. Perhaps you have a better one.

G550 4x4^2 arrived at the dealer recently

Do you see the axles in that notes list? I don't.

G550 4x4^2 arrived at the dealer recently

Of interest is that the Vehicle Data Card (attached) makes no mention of the portal axles, and the EPC has no parts listing for the axles.

It has three diff locks. Check out the window sticker linked in the original post.

G550 4x4^2 arrived at the dealer recently

Whatever it is, it destroys the departure angle.

I wonder why they put on that silly low two bar rear bumper. It destroys the departure angle.

    Researching G Wagens

There used to be one that was somewhat dated, but has been taken down. Best alternative is to go on one of the G-Class Forums like: http://pointedthree.com/disc/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=57 and do some reading and ask questions.
