Free! TreadLightly Trainer - Starter Kit

Due to a lack of vehicle, I am seldom on the trail these days. I went through a few boxes of gear on my shelves, and found somethings that might be better off of the hands of someone who can use them. One of those items is a TreadLightly "Tread Trainer Starter Kit". Its a course syllabus, two...

ExPo Videos: Post your videos here!

That was really good. Audio goes out a bit towards the end when he walks into the CNC area, but I really enjoyed the video and came away impressed by their workmanship.

Two spares? Seems way overkill for MT. However, you are welcome to grab the Gen 2.5 rim and 31" tire off the back of my rig. Send an email (not a pm) for details.

2006 LR3 traction control engaging around corners

This happened to me a while back, and I solved it. But it's been over 10 years and I can't remember how! So....useless post, but now I'm subscribed! LOL You might try looking up my user name on LRRepair forum, or some of the other LR3 specific forums. I probably shared the answer back then.

You might be able to borrow them from AutoZone, NAPA, etc... they loan out special tools all the time. It's usually free, though they charge a deposit.

Nicely done! Very watchable. Way better than any of the movies I never made on my various Traverses across the Trail. I didn't recognize the power line section though. Is that the new detour?

    LR3/4 Sway Bar disconnects

For a little while, as an experiment, I removed the sway bars altogether from my LR3, made virtually no difference in amount of articulation in the front, pretty minor improvement in the rear. Caveat: I was a coil springer LR3, not an air ride.

The M~D~U Report: A Thousand Miles of Dirt in Utah

Man, you set the bar high a few years ago, and now you've raised it, considerably. Fantastic trip report. All you need to do now is publish a map highlighting your route!

    The "SoCal" Crew Thread

I was up there two weekends ago, top down in a convertible, and it was sunny and +70 degrees. There was snow in the shaded side of some of the hills, but it was melting fast, and the roads and trails were totally clear. At the highest point, near Onxy Summit, there was a few inches of snow in...

Yes, Round trip from trail head and back to the freeway. It only takes about 15 minutes to drive from the terminus near Siverwood back to the McDonalds off the 138/15 offramp. Cleghorn can be run in 2 hours, but most people go slow, and the group size and experience level modifies the net speed...

    The "SoCal" Crew Thread

A fun loop through Big Bear is Gold Mountain to Jacoby to Horsetheif Flats and back up. The gatekeeper at GM is a good test of your ability to pick a line. Gen 3's might struggle on break over and approach angle though. However, if you skip GM and just take Jacoby to Horsethief, you'll be...

Cleghorn takes about 4 to 5 hours to run if all goes well. Sometimes up to 6 hours, depending on the group. Other fun "local" trails include Big Bear: Rattlesnake Canyon, Jacoby Canyon, Gold Mountain, White Mountain, Tip Top Mountain, Horsethief Flats, Pipes Canyon I would not recommend...
